The employees of Automatic Electric (Canada) which laid off 25 employees last year, say that AGT should have concerned itself with provincial unemployment and economic figures before accepting a tender from Northern Electric in Ontario. In Edmonton, an AGT spokesman says the 1972 supply of 13.000 telephones will be provided by Northern Electric of Montreal.

Northern Electric won the orders in 1970, 1971 and Uiis year. The system of awarding the order to the lowest bidder started in 1970. "We saved S33.235 over the book value and $15,430 over the Automatic Electric price for 13,000 sets," said Mr. Brice.
