The Jays took a 2-0 lead in the third when Pat Fruge singled, Dal Miller reached on an error and Tim Aguillard slammed a two-run double. Iota tied the game at 2-2 with single runs in the fourth and fifth but the Jays broke the game open with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Brent Andrus opened that frame with a single which Tim Aguillard followed with a single of his own. Thad Richard's double scored both runners. Roddy Hebert's single later scored Richard.

The Jays added an insurance run in the sixth when Andrus tripled and scored on a wild pitch Fruge, Andrus, Aguillard and Richard had two hits each while Hebert and Robert McGee added singles to the 10-hit Blue Jay attack. John Matte and Brian Wriborg led the Bulldog attack with two Sports Correspondent The St. Edmund Blue Jays split a doubleheader Saturday afternoon at North Park as they fell to St. Thomas More 13-0 but defeated Iota 6-2 in high school baseball action. Coach Harold Fusilier's Jays, now 4-7 for the season, were limited to three hits by Cougar pitchers Todd Hebert and Brady Mouton in their 13-0 loss to St.

Thomas More. Meanwhile, the Cougars were banging out 11 hits off Jay hurlers Thad Richard and Roddy Hebert. The Cougars, now 8-6, exploded for six runs in the third inning to break a scoreless tie. The big blow of the inning was Brett Stevens three-run homer with two out. The Cougars added six additional runs in the fourth.

Brent Andrus led the Jays with two singles. The other Jay hit was a single off the bat of Pat Fruge. In the nightcap, Tim Aguillard i I'hiiKi Kent Miller Tim Aguillard slides into 2nd during doubleheader action. Tim Aguillard. WP Hebert LP Richard.

ET1066 combined with starter Bill Han-non to limit the Wolves to 1 hit, gave the Cats an early lead with a solo home run in the second inning. Fruge, now 2-0 for the season, pitched 4-1 1 3 innings of no-hit, no run ball while registering 6 strikeouts. Harmon allowed one hit and two unearned runs in his 2-2 1 3 innings of mound duty.

John Schexnayder, who scattered 5 hits, was the loser for Rayne. Schexnayder fanned 6 and walked 3 in going the distance for the Wolves. The Cats took the lead in the second when Fruge blasted a Schexnayder fast ball over the left field fence for his first home run of the season. The Cats made it 3-0 in the same inning when Scott Phillips reached on an error and Keith Fontenot singled.
