detachment at Westlock and report- ed the matter. Const. Ritchie Allan of the R.C.M.P, said he investigated, and found some of Rains' lumber matched some of the slabs found on Pidsadowski's farm. Const. Allan said he collected 41 pieces of board from an took them to Pidsadowski's farm.

It was found two of the slabs fitted Rains' boards perfectly. Evenly the saw cuts and the grain matched, he said. Defence Counsel Guy Patterson maintained the sawyers could have thrown Pidsadowski's slabs on Rains' slab pile by mistake. Rains admitted that Pidsadowski cut logs on the same land 1 and had them sawed at the same mill. Mr.

Rains said the slabs were worth $40, but Mr. Patterson figured it out to about $8. Chief Justice O'Connor ordered Pidsadowski to pay $24 compensation. Ford Employees Report At Jobs WINDSOR, -Some 7,000 employees reported for work as usual Thursday following unauthorized walkouts that closed all manufacturing operations Wednesday at the big Ford of Canada plant. Another 3,000 workers were due to report on the afternoon shift. Representatives of the company and Local 200. United Automobile Workers (C.I.O.) scheduled a meeting to discuss the dispute that started the walkouts in the auto assembly plant.

The regular midnight shiftnot involved in the walkouts-went to work as usual Wednesday night after the union's policy committee said in a statement it saw "no reason" for men to remain off their jobs. Sixty-five employees in the auto trim department, centre of the dispute, were to be kept off their jobs pending the outcome of Thursday's meeting. Employees protested assignment of certain jobs in the department as men returned to work following a two-day layoff. The layoff had been called because of parts shortages during a 1951 model changeover. Some 7,000 day shift employees were made idle as work stoppages spread from the assembly plant to the other three production plants.
