The varsity squad chalked up a 64-61 victory while the junior varsity finished with a 59-53 defeat.

The Lumberjacks' next match will be Saturday, Dec. 22, when they host Vandebilt. Come out and back the 'Jacks as they aim for another vic double, Bonnie G. using her artistic abilities. coats shedding.

On the second team are Randy Davis and Steve Gunn, linebackers; and Jerry Butler, defensive back. Receiving Honorable Mention on offense are Anthony Butler, Mike Lemoine, Darryl Theriot and Steve Bourgeois. On defense are James Premeaux, Mike Clayton and Richard Valteau. Sophomore Dalton Hilliard was named 10-AA District Most Valuable Offensive Player, and Coach Jack Andre was voted Coach of the Year. Congratulations to these, fine representatives of PHS.

Three of our Lumberjacks will continue their football careers. Alvin Butler, Jerry Butler and Randy Vilo signed football scholarships with Southeastern As the final seconds ticked away in the Dome, the 1979 football season came to an end for our mighty Jacks We are very proud of our ff JAcks who are funners-up in State AA, District champs and number one in the hearts of thousands of Tri-City fans. We've come to know what it means to be a winner and a part of Patterson High's "Who Dat Club. Angel Guzzino was the leading scorer with 15 points. Close behind were Faith Brooks with 12 and Paula Bade with 10. Other scorers were Lisa Brooks with seven, Jessie Paul with four and Jodi Ortiz, Ida Smith, and Julie Armato each with two. Tuesday, Dec. 18, the varsity was not as victorious, losing a squeaker 41-39 to Centerville.

Top scorer for the game was Lisa Brooks with 12 points. Other scorers included Faith Brooks, Paula Bade, Jessie Paul, Ida Smith, Julie Armato and Angel Guzzino. The Junior Jills came up on the winning side as they defeated Centerville 24-19. Popping the net with 12 points was Carla Francis, and other scorers were Rita Gant, Ida Smith, Julie Armato, and Melanie Crappell. Songs of the season echoed throughout the town as several organizations teamed up to go Christmas carolling recently.

The band blended their voices Saturday, Dec. 15, while the Future Business Leaders carolled Wednesday, Dec. 19. Health Occupations also got into the act Dec. 17, as Mrs.

Ortiz led them in songs of Christmas cheer. As PHS looks back at football '79, we will remember the special PHS lever that everyone caught as the season got underway.
