The Orange Lemon association received from the Los Angeles factory this morning one of the famous Parker's boxmaklng machines, the first to be used here. The machine is a mechanical wonder, turning out six to eight boxes a minute with the capacity. of 2500 a day.

It happened Saturday night. Sunday morning he found the light turned on, the harness in disorder, the oil well reduced in the carriage lamps and, scandalous! pretzels and cigar stumps under the buggy seat! A young woman neighbor heard voices and sa a light in the barn in the wee- sma' hours of the night. Somebody ''ad "borrowed" the Judges' horse and buggy.

The Judge doesn't mind that, but he would like to know to whom he did the favor, and he'd advise them against pretzels. The annual meeting of the Congregational church society will be heid this evening at the bhurc' Family Party. A quiet little family party celebrated the birthday anniversary of C. E. Tibbot yesterday at his home in Riverside avenue, Mr.

28. (Staff correspondence of THE SUN.) A delightful family reunion occurred on Christmas at the home of Mr. and Mrs. G. R.

Geery. The affair was marred only by the absence of a daughter, Mrs. A. P. Johnson, of Alameda, Texas.

A four-course turkey dinner, with accompanlaments, royally served by the hostess, and as royally enjoyed by the guests, was one of the features to be remembered. Those who enjoyed the affair were Mr. and Mrs. G. R.

Geery, Miss Lucy Geery, Joseph and Orie Geery, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Stewart and family, and Mr.

and Mrs. George O. Young and family, of Houston, Texas. Mr. and Mrs.

John Bales and Messrs. Curtis, Mowery and H. E. Sweeney, friends of the family, also enjoyed the festive occasion. Got Fifteen Dollars.

Not a hold-up, as might be guessed by the sub head, but got a $15 fine for being drunk and disorderly on the Highland car one night last week. When not under the influence of liquor the young man Is an industrious employee of one of the companies doing business here. This was one of the times when "booze" got the best of him. Conductor Froude was com pelled to put him off the car near Harlem Springs. As an example of what may be expected by young bloods who go to the county seat and "load up," expecting to be hauled home like cattle, the Traction company had him arrested.

He was brought before Justice Kunzman, who fined him $15 It was promptly paid, and the young man's name is withheld because he was genuinely ashamed of his bestiality. A Wedding Event. Miss Anna Ives, accompanied by her father, Willis Ives, left yesterday morning for Kern. Upon their arrival in that city they were met by L. D.

Olds, to whom Miss Ives was wedded. This bit of hews will come as a surprise to many Highlanders, who have seen Miss Ives grow up here in our midst, but every good wish will follow her to her new home In Kern. Mr. Olds, who Is constable of Kern, was unable to coma south at this time so the bride's father escorted her there. Highland Ffings.

Professor and Mrs. Glasscock and Eugene Wilkerson, of Colton, and President George Gates, of Pomona college, were guests yesterday at the Burke home on Palm avenue. Hon. S. E.

Field and family and Mrs. Eaton, of Shenandoah, Iowa, were guests at the home of Miss Gill in San Bernardino yesterday. Mrs. A. J.

Wilkins returned yesterday from Covina, where she spent Christmas with friends. Mrs. James Fleming, of San Bernardino, was in Highland today. Guy Frazer was in Los Angeles today on business. LUDLOW NEW STATION ON TONAPAH LINE Hearts of Little Ones Made Glad in a Merry, Merry Christmas Event.

It is predicted a good-sized boom will be on before 30 days Merry Christmas Work, The entertainment for the children of Ludlow was successfully carried out on Christmas eve under the auspices of the ladles of Ludlow. A large illuminated Christmas tree, loaded with good things for all, was of course, the main attraction for the little ones.

French was badly injured this morning while exercising a calf In the road near the Dr. Prltchard home. The calf, in its runs, had thrown the old gentleman to the a couple of times, but the aged man apparently did not mind the falls, when the third time he fell it was seen that he was not able to rise. It believed that a hip bone is broken and there will be an examination by doctors tonight. Mr.

French will be remembered as the man who was struck and thrown from the track by an engine while walking on the old motor road some time ago. He recovered after that accident although he is 74 years of age, and it is thought that he will pull through all right from today's, bad fall. To Enter a Protest. A mass meeting to protest against the railroads' proposed Increase In freight rates and to draft resolutions to the Interstate Commerce commission, to the State Legislature and Congress on the subject, Is called for Wednesday evening, at 8 o'clock, in the City Hall. The meeting is called under the auspices of the California Traffic association of which R.

R. Sutherland Is a member of the executive committee. At Stuchbcrry Home. Albert Bresnahan and bride were the recipients of a visit at the Stuch-berry home Saturday evening from a party of friends, who showered them with congratulations and good wishes. Mr.

and Mrs. Breshanan will make their home for a time with the bride's mother, Mrs. Stuchberry, of East Colton. Spokes. The testing of the new water mains was postponed for a few days as it was thought best to let What cement was used dry thoroughly before turning the water on in the new pipes.

Prof. A. Harvey Collins, Euperinten dent and principal of the Covina schools, was a guest today of Rev. Jesse Hungate. Bernie Crosswell, of Cucamonga, has been visiting his former school-mate, Leston Oak, for a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Hamilton and son, Ray Los Angeles, have been visiting Colton friends for a few days, Mr.

Hamilton returning home yesterday and Mrs. Hamilton and Roy leav ing today. Mrs. W. H.

Rains left yesterday for Oakland for a visit with Mr. and Mrs Henry Noffsinger, Raymond Rains is spending the time she is away at his aunt's home in Otis. Mrs. B. A.

Probably the most successful and largest attenled social affair given in the history of Ludlow was the Christmas dance arranged by the la'Ies of this town. A stringed orchestra was imported for the occasion. An excellent supper wr.s served at. midnight, and dancing continued until tan ettr.y hours of the morning. Out of town visitors Included: Mrs.

BROTHERHOOD ISSUES A CALL All members of the Boys' Brother hood this city requested to be at the meeting tonight at 7 o'clock, at the First Methodist Episcopal church. The most important business to be transacted will be the nomination of officers for the coming term.

This business has been talked up a good deal lately and a good string of nominations Is expected. It has been decided that no boy will be allowed to run for any office who has not his (flies paid up to 1909. They will have until January 1 to pay these dues. The committee appointed to look over the treasurer's books and finan cial secretary's-have reports ready to file. Baseball will be discussed and practice will be begun immediately.

All of last year's players, who have baseball suits belonging to the Brother hood, are requested to bring them in and turn over to captain of athletics, Clarence Foris. Only those boys who have signed the new constitution and have paid their dues up to date, will be allowed to vote. So all are especially urged to come out and sign up for the next six months. J. N. Field, who is securing funds for the Baptist unlverBitay to be erected at that place prolded a fund of 200,000 can be raised by January 13, next, is meeting with continued success, and the outlook la that the big sum will be fully subscribed within the required time. The Board of Trustees of the university will hold a meeting at the First Baptist church at Redlands next Thursday, when the situation to date will be thoroughly canvassed, and th report to be made to the Baptist convention, which meets in Pasadena on January 13, will be outlined.

Dr. Field has just returned from a trip of 13 days' duration about Southern California la the Interest of the proposed university, and states that his trip has netted the fund a matter of $30,000. Though Secretary FlelJ has been constantly on the go since he took up ihe work of raising the desired $200,000, there are still a number of Baptist churches which have not been visited, and he expects to visit most of these before the meeting of the trusteese next week. JAILED FOR BATTERY. Francis Martinez and M.

Balderamo were brought to the county jail yesterday to serve 12 and 50 days respectively, for battery upon each other.
