HURON -The long-range plan for the Huron Youth Center was explained to members of the Citizens Committee on Parks and Recreation by Dr. Edward Norton and Vic Majestic at a meeting held last night. Starting through regular channels, the Youth Center cochairmen informed the citizens committee on the operation of the program, and if it has proved itself within the next few months, it is hoped a full- time recreation director might be obtained. At Wednesday night's opening. 204 junior and senior high students attended a capacity crowd.

From now on, they said, dances will be scheduled for junior and senior high students on separate nights. A nominal charge is asked of those attdending the scheduled dances, but it is open on nights when there are no dances to Huron students and their guests free. The Citizens Committee explained that this year's budget had been made up to take care of expenses of the present summer recreation program and suggested they attend a city council meeting. If the program proves itself, efforts will be made to raise funds to hire a full-time dire- tor. Mesenberg reported the water ski classes had been stalemated since he is unable to obtain boats for use in the program.

Chief Seeks 7 Policemen At Fremont FREMONT At an informal meeting with city council and other city officials held last night, Police Chief Joseph Forgatsch asked seven policemen be added to the Fremont Department.

One of the seven would be a plain clothesman, and the other six would be added, two for each of the three shifts. There are 25 men authorized for the department now, but they are short by two, one by a vacancy and another in military service. With vacations, Chief- Forgatsch said, he is having a problem of sufficiently manning the three shifts. He pointed out growing crime bigger areas to be covered because of annexation, juvenile problems, and the fact that five resisting arrest cases were handled within the last week, the additional men were needed. Cost the first year for the seven additional men would be a little over $30,000, he said.

He said he was considering next year's budget and would like to include the additional patrolmen. Fremont's population is 18,000. No action was taken at the informal meeting held last night. Poulos, alternate. HELEN L. BAKER LIMA Miss Helen L. Baker, 50, of 624 W. Wayne Lima, died Thursday morning in a Lima Hospital where she had been patient three days.

She was born in Lima, the daughter of Denver R. and Mamie M. Baker. She was an elementary school teacher for eight years at the public school on Kelley's Island. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Lima and had served three years in the WACs during World War II- Surviving are four brothers, Luther A.

Baker of Lima, Paul D. and Jack all of Lima, and Louis B. Baker of Rt. 1, Elida; her mother, Mrs. Denver Baker of Lima.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Chiles and Sons-Laman Chapel with the Rev. Norman E. Hagley officiating- Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in "Lima. MRS.

RENE PECK NEW LONDON Mrs. Rena Tucker Peck, 91. Cooke Rt. 3. died last night at home following a lengthy illness.

Born in Miles Strip, N.Y., she had been a resident here for most of her lifetime. She was the oldest member of the Community Farm Women's Club, a member of the Methodist Church and a charter member of New London Grange. Her husband, Miner, died in 1033 and a daughter, Emma, died in 1913. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Algie Knapp, with whom she lived; one grandson, Donald Erswell, New London; one stepson, Richard Knapp, North Olmstead; one stepdaughter Mrs.

Vada Baillie, Piqua; several 'great-granchil dren; and three, nieces whom she raised, Mrs. Glenn W. Jones Pueblo, Mrs; Eben Bistline, Grafton, and Mrs. Gordon White, Warren. Friends may call after 4 p.m, Saturday at the Eastman Funeral Home where services will be held at 2 p.m.

Sunday with the Rev. Orland Ruby officiating. Burial will be in Grove Street Cemetery. Edwin Hill Dies At 80; Services Set BERLIN HEIGHTS Edwin Ruggles Hill, 80, Berlin Road, died last night at his home following a lengthy illness. A former member of the Erie County School Board and the Erie County Health Board, he had owned and operated the Hill Fruit Farm until his retirement several years ago.

Coast Guard Rushes Girl To Hospital KELLEYS ISLAND A posotulant at the Dominican Camp on Kelleys Island was rushed to the mainland night by the Marblehead Coast Guard after she was stricken with an acute asthma attack. Sheila Ann Quinn, 19-year-old candidate for admission into the Adrian Dominican Convent, suffered the attack after pitching hay in a clean-up job at the Camp.
