HIT DESTINED TO MAKE GOOD Mining Camp in Eastern End of the County Promises to Develop. Hart, the desert mining camp, that sprang into existence in the spring of 1908, during the panicky day, flourishing with all the frills and excitement of a newly discovered Nevada mining camp, afterward thawing out, seems destined to make good yet.

Hart Is located In the extreme eastern end of San Bernardino county, close to the Nevada state line, and about five miles from Barnwell. The original discovery was made in January. 1 SOS. by Hart and Hitt, two Goldfleld prospectors. Since that time there have been three mint's developed, a 10-stamp mill erected and a large tonnage of ore blocked out to great depth in the camp.

This has been accomplished in spite of the knocks the camp has received and the recurring effects of the misrepresentations of the "ground floor' promoters. The formation in the Hart district Is rhyolltlc, the ore coming from an immense brecriated tone, where it occurs In lenses of quart that are cemented together with kayoline. A singular feature of the district is the entire absence of walls. The Big Chief mine has been developed with a vertical shaft end 3000 feet of laterals. Twenty men are employed In the mine, one-half the force being engaged In producing and the balance In future development.

There Is a large tonnage blocked out for extraction and the management Is keeping this work up on an even basis with the production. The values run from IS to in Bold per ton. The water for the 10-stamp mill comes from Barnwell, nine miles distant, by gravity. F. K.

Browne, formerly of Goldfield, who was connected with the C. O. P. and Gold Bar mines. Is in charge of the development on the Big Chief.

On the Oro Belle tlve main shaft has attained a depth of S00 feet and drifting is now feeing performed on the 700 and SOO-foot levels. There Is an abundance of ore on this property and a mill will be. installed upon the solution of the water problem. Every one hears much of smiling eyes. Probably tbey owe much of their popularity to the fact that tbey do not produce wrinkles. The smile which creases the face into dozens of tine lines does produce wrinkles. Grimaces are in the same class with this face lining; smlie. Tbey should be discouraged.

Many children, too, perform little tricks with various parts of the body which result In awkward or ungraceful habits which are later bard to overcome. For Instance, the double jointed child who can bend bis thumbs and Gngers In all directions often does so, to the admiring wonder of his playmates, until bis knuckles are enlarged and misshapen. The small boy that can swing from bis arms la sometimes cheered, even by bis elders. Into dislocating a shoul der. The little girl whose parents smile at ber when she walks pigeon toed sometimes does so until she bas formed a bablt of walking with ber toes turned In.

For be It from any one to discourage childish play. Gymnastics and all sorts of bodily exercise, if properly directed, lead to agility and strength. But children should be discouraged from Indulging in grimaces and "tricks" which will In time distort their features and bodies. Wrinkles just beginning to form are comparatively easily conquered, and this good reason should send every woman off to ber cream jar as soon as tbey begin to appear. For one reason or another tbey are Ignored; powder and liquids leaving a deposit on the akin will conceal them for a tHne, but tbey are there, nevertheless, and some day tbey cannot be hidden, no matter bow you cream and powder, and then, tearfully, a woman takes her wrinkles seriously and admits her years of willful neglect A very simple cream for plumping the skin contains lanolin, two ounces; cocoa butter, two ounces; sweet almond oil, two ounces.

To this may be added a few drops of any favorite perfume. An excellent emollient cream for flesh making used on the arms as well as the neck Is prepared In the following manner: Fresh lard, one gram; alcohol (80 per cent), twenty grams, es ence of rosemary, eleven drops; essence of bergnmot, eleven drops. Rub the bands and wrists with a liberal amount of olive oil to whlcb bas been added a few drops of benzoin. This not only acts as a food, but as a whltener as well. A pair of loose gloves from which the finger tips have been cut worn at nlgbt will aid.
