ASHTA3W A 27 May 10, 1992 DAILY NEWS OBITUARIES TOM REILLY Firefighter Tom Reilly, 61, former treasurer of the Uniformed Firefighters Association, a founding member of the Fire Department's Emerald Society Pipe Band and an aide to Fire Department Chief of Operations John O'Hagen, died early yesterday morning in White Plains Hospital of a heart attack. He leaves his wife, Helen, and five children. A wake will be held today and tomorrow from 2 pim. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

THOMAS ERVIN Thomas Ervin, 80, a retired NBC executive who was a prosecutor at the Nuremberg trials, died here Thursday of a cerebral hemorrhage.

After joining the Army in 1941, Ervin became a deputy to Brig. Gen. Telford Taylor and helped prosecute the war trials. Ervin worked for NBC from 1948 until his retirement in 1974, when he was the network's executive vice president. WILLIAM SEVERN LEE, Mass.

(AP) William Severn, 77, a journalist, magician and author of more than 50 books for young people, died Friday. In the 1930s, Severn worked as an editor and columnist for the Farmingdale Post and other Long Island newspapers. He also began a second career performing as a magician in the New York area. Fatima Kuinova, 67, of Rego Park, Queens, a vocalist from the newly independent country of Tajikistan, and Ng Sheung-chi, 82, a singing storyteller from Chinatown, each will receive a $5,000 grant at a gala reception in Washington in September. "These fellowships are a celebration of America, pure and simple," said Imelda Radice, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, in announcing the awards yesterday. "They pay tribute to a range of artistic tradition that spans the diverse culture among us." Kuinova, a leading musician in the former Soviet Union before immigrating to the U.S.

in 1980, sings the Jewish folk songs of Bukhara, an ancient city on the old silk route between China and the Middle East. The daughter of a cantor in Bukhara's synagogue, she now performs often in concerts and gatherings with an ensemble of shashmagam, a classical form of central Asian music with minutely inflected melody and rhythm. Since his teen years, Ng has been a master of muk 'yu, a 300-year-old Chinese genre of unaccompanied narrative songs. In the south China village where he was born and lived most of his life, he chronicled lives in the field and on the farm. Since coming to the U.S.
