His 54 career touchdown passes leaves him two short of the Southeastern Conference record held by Florida's Kerwin Bell, 1984-87.

Bell also holds the SEC's career yardage record of 7,585. Hodson moved into fourth place on the conference career yardage standings behind Bell, John Reaves and Wayne Peace, all of Florida. Anthony Thornton led Ohio with 125 yards passing. Greer had 91 yards rushing on 17 carries. It was the most lopsided victory for LSU since a 66-7 conquest of Wyoming since 1977 and the Tigers' first victory ever over an Ohio team.
