Miss Clarin Th 'University of Alberta, hockey team humbled the representatives of the University of Saskatchewan at the Arena rink on Saturday evening- by a cor of 4-2. The three hundred odd fans who assembled to witness the fracas left fully recompensed at the conclusion of a game which wa tajne and thrilling by tarn, with flashes of Big Four and Church league stuff intermingled, Aa Saskatchewan contenders for the Allan cup.

the aggregation from the neighboring; province did not -stack up very high, and the mug donated by Sir Montague hardly likely to be Jarred loose from the winners of the Manitoba league by the sextette hailing from Saskatoon If Except for about half of the first protest is due to be heard this morning at the members of the committee being President "McCaw. rice-President Eddie Morris, and James Ross, clerk of the supreme court, the latter gentleman having been agreed upon by the league officials as a disinterested third party. The clash with the Tigers this evening promises to be one of the best of the season. Although the black and yellow tribe do not need the game to ensure them getting into the playoff, a victory would be hailed with great joy by their supporters, who felt rather badly over the treatment the Esks banded their pets on Fri- day. Having taken four games in row from too green and white, the Tigrera were all keyed up to make it' Ave last week, and the comeback of the Eskimos was a bitter pill for them to swallow.

It hss been the contention of the Eskimos and their supporters all along that the Tigers have bad all the luck that was going all through the league season to date, and figure that the Bengals are due to get their bumps again tonight. Tickets for the game have been selling rapidly, and the arena promises to be Jammed to when the teams glide out on the Ice. The probable line-up follows: Eskimos Tigers Tobln goal Reld. Simpson defence Gardiner Dee, Fraser Kests centre Stanley Oagne right wing Cook. Briden left wing Baker Muirhead sub Mitchell Anderson Arbour Harold Deeton will referee and Jimmy Steele will be Judge of play.

Tigers Eskimo CsnaSlane Dominions Having demonstrated to th entire) satisfaction of a large number of Calgary fans on Friday night that they have th bulge on the Tigers, th Eskimo! this evening: will endeavor to re- peat their sparkling exhibition for the benefit of their local followers, when they hook up with the league leaders at (he Arena, play being billed to commence at 8:29 sharp. Tonight's contest is the last scheduled fixture In the Big Four league, the first of the play-off games between the two leading teams being due to be staged at Calgary on Friday night Although the Eskimos apparently have the second position nailed down tight with long ten-Inch spikes, a protest by- the Canadians, who claim that Tobln. goalkeeper for the green and white brigade, is Ineligible, hovers In the offing, and the dispute has not yet been settled. If th contention of the Calgarians Is upheld when the protest committee holds a meeting, it will mean that the "saw-off" for the titular honors will be confined to the Calgary club. There's a grain of comfort for Edmonton ians in the fact that it will take a committee meeting to nudge the Esks out of their niche In the lesgue standing, but It will be A cruel blow If Kenny Mackensie's outfit fail to get Into the playoff.

START -FOR 1921 SEASON MAJOR LEAGUERS TRAIfllilG Varsity Basketballers J-Clash With the 50th perioo, ine local- atnietes aaa oiurur night's, game well In hand, and won with a little to spare. In tlie early momenta of play, the visitors gave of their best, but wilted perceptibly from then on. Dn several occasions they got through the defence to the green and gold, but "Slim" Morris had one of his good nights, and turned the'r best efforts aside with great defines. The play of the Varsity goalkeeper was of a high atandard, and his spectacular saving in the first period broke the hearts of the opposition.

Trimble and Yulll Played Wall Trimble and "Hop Tulll also ehowed up well. Trimble gummed up a lot of the Saskatchewan plays by nifty back-checking, and besides horned into the limelight by scoring a couple cf roals and being robbed of a third when Thompson threw his stick In front of him when be was about to snoot, yuui. while only occupying the position of a s-ib. played a grand game, and came through with a goal when it was neeaea in the worst way. His presence brightened every play, and on hia showing on Saturday he Is entitled to a regular place on the linens, Mackay also did a lot of clever things, and scored one goal.

Hia rushing waa pretty at all times, although effective only on on occasion. The back-checking of Ksdsle. coupled with the sterling work of Cleland and McGregor en defence kept the goalgetting aspiration of the visitors pretty well settled up au ue night. Broadfoot VVas Good The Saskatchewan team showed greater apeed at time and had more weight than their adversaries, but the defence did not make the best us of their poundage and the forwards failed to check back, and this In a great measure explains their defeat. Broad-foot turned In th best gam of th lot.

His apeed and his sUckhandling mads him dangerous at all times, and the goal he scored In the last period waa a fitting climax to a brilliant rush. He carried th puck th length of th ice. twisting and turning through th entire U. of A. team, and Instead shooting directly, circled the nets and shoved the disc into th hemp from the side, the shut glancing off Morris' skat.

Thompson played consistently well, as did K. Wilson, but th latter was Injured and was forced to retire. Palne'a work waa very (Ine during the first period, but fell oft badly later. Conrad showed up well aa a substitute, working hard and effectively, while Wingham cam in for some notice by scoring a goal on a rue rush with Conrad. After Saskatchewan had don most of the attacking and Morrl had made a number of sensational saves, particularly on from Thompson, th U.

of A. tribe came into th picture, Mackay gtvlng them the first counter "with a shot from outside the defence. Eight minutes later th green and fold added another tally. Tulll doing the trick on a long shot. There waa further scoring In this period.

A Oisoeted Goal Shortly after th commencement of the second session, the Saskatchewan team claimed a goal which waa disputed, the visitors declaring th puck went Into th goal and bounded sut again. The claim was disallowed by the officials.
