Malenkov said Friday. Malenkov, now a deputy pre mier and minister for power sta tions, told Western newspaper men at a reception at the Indian embassy that the new atomic power 'stations would be operating before Britain's pioneer atomic plant.

(The first atomic power station in Britain at Calder Hall, Cumberland, is expected to start working before the end of next year. Its capacity is expected to be between 100,000 and 200,000 kilowatts.) Russia already has one atomic power station, claimed to be the first of its kind in the world. Malenkov was asked when stations with a capacity of 50,000 to 100,000 kilowatts would be ready in Russia. He replied: "I don't know, but certainly before the one being constructed In England."
