Reid Vipond at Metropolitan United Church Miss Rita Skinner became the bride of Mr. Richard Jack Bell. Escorted to the altar by her father, bride wore waltzlength gown of white tulle over satin. The strapless bodice was modified with a lace jacket and her fingertip veil was held in place with a coronet of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of Sweetheart roses and stephanotis.

The bride's attendant was Mrs. R. McNern, matron of honor, who wore a gown of rust tulle over yellow taffeta and a yellow bandeau in her hair. She carried a bouquet of yellow carnations and yellow baby chrysanthemums. Mr.

L. best man and ushers were Mr. Harold Skinner and Mr. Ronald Duncan. Miss Verna Ellingson was solo1st and Mr.

and Mrs. Roy A. Bellward, all of Edmonton. For her nuptials she wore a gown of Chantilly-lace and nytulle over satin. The Queen Anne collar was trimmed with iridescent sequins and the sleeves tapered to lily-points at the wrist.

D. G. Marcotte, matron of honor, wore a yellow gown, and the bridesmaids, Miss Joyce Roosa and Mrs. S. Elke, chose sky blue gowns.

They carried arm bouquets of gladioli and chrysanthemums. Little Joanne Marcotte, niece of the bride, was flower girl wearing a midnight blue nylon tulle frock with matching poke bonnet. She carried a nosegay of pink Sweetheart roses and carnations. Mr. Jack Kinnon of Nelson, B.C.

was best man and guests were ushered by Mr. D. G. Marcotte and Mr. Harvey Bellward.

Wedding music was played by Mr. D. Millson and Mr. Richard Jones sang "The Lord's Prayer." Mrs. Roosa wore a navy dress of silk organza, the bodice trimmed with Chantilly lace.

Her accessories were rose and she wore Talisman rose; en corsage. The groom's mother wore an imported frock of French silk brocade in a parchment shade. She wore a matching mode hat of velvet and a brown orchid en corsage. Following the service a reception for 100 guests was held in You know it's good J. The bride's table was centred with a tiered cake embedded in pink tulle and flanked by lighted tapers and bouquets of pastel gladioli. Mr. Ross MacLean proposed a toast to the bride and telegrams of congratulation were read by Mr. J. Kinnon.

For a honeymoon to Banff and Jasper the wore a cocoa brown dress brown bride, velvet trim and gold accessories. Her corsage was of Talisman roses. On their return Mr. and Mrs. Bellward will make their home in Edmonton.

The strapless bodice was modified with a bolero and she wore a train-length veil trimmed with lace. Her bouquet was of roses carnations. The senior attendants wore gowns of yellow and mauve and the flower girl wore a green frock. They wore flowers in their hair and carried colonial bouquets of mixed summer blossoms.

Best man was Mr. Alfred Oslund and ushers were Mr. try Fleck, and Mr. Ernest Mikasko. Later a reception for 150 guests was held at the Kingsway Legion Hall.

Mr. Duncan McLeod proposed a toast to the bride. For travelling the bride wore a vellow check suit with red accessories. Her corsage was of white carnations. After a honeymoon in Banff the couple are making their home in Edmonton.

L. McAndrews of Calgary and the late Mr. McAndrews. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of white nylon tulle with a lace jacket. Her fingertip veil was held in place with a Juliet cap of lace and satin trimmed with pearls and she carried a white Prayer book garlanded with a gardenia and white roses.

Miss Joyce and Miss Denise Forcade attended their sister gowns of copper panaWearing, with matching jackets. Picture hats and baskets of bronze baby chrysanthemums completed their ensembles. Mr. Walter Mc Andrews, brother of the groom, and Mr. David Meikle attended the groom.

The fresh cherries were out of season this summer when I was there, but the blueberries were at their best. They were to be found in all sizes, from the smallest that are preferred for pies, to the largest that are gecerally served with sugar and cream. cherries and blueberries a are frozen and canned at plants nearby. A delicious open-face blueberry pie was served as dessert at a buffet supper. I found that the filling was a combination of the canned fruit with a few of the large fresh berries.

pie shell had been baked. The canned berries were thickened with a mixture of sugar and flour and cooled before the fresh fruit was added. We usually like cherry pies with a double crust. The modern canned sour cherries are of such excellent quality that they give as good results as fresh cherries do. We enjoy having them ready to use and all pitted us.
