This will mark the opening of the first F.M. station In Western Canada between Winnipeg and Vancouver. Walker Blake, manager of the government-owned station, and several other officials also will be on hand for the opening. Mr. Blake explained that F.M.

He said the now transmitter at CKUA is in-called with a view to giving a 12-mile broadcasting range; He said however that clear contact had been made during tests with Camrose, ome 46 miles distant. Eliminate Static The new equipment, which Is the most modern and advanced F.M. transmitter available, will virtually eliminate all static, both natural nd man-made. It wll abolish other station interference and prevent "fading" or change In volume.

(amplitude modulation) will not be effected in any way, said Mr. Blake. Following the official opening eeremony a special schedule of programs has been arranged as follows: p.m., Ponoka glee club with 23 male voices; P.m., Home of Dreams, with organ, violin and poems; p.m., "The Earth Abideth Forever." a presentation by the CKUA players; p.m., regular news broadcast; p.m., "Listen to Loui.se;" p.m., Don Potter, piano recital and p.m., song recital.
