I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you.

Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone. Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the household word that it always was. Let it be spoken without affect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant.

It is the same that it ever was. There is absolutely unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner. All is well. Henry Scott Holland James, Glenn Stanley Passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2013.

For sad old earth Must borrow its mirth, But has trouble enough of its own.

Sing, and the hills will answer; Sigh, it is lost on the air, The echoes bound to a joyful sound, But shrink from voicing care. Rejoice, and men will seek you; Grieve, and they turn and go. They want full measure Of all your pleasure, But they do not need your woe. Be glad, and your friends are many; Be sad, and you lose them all There are none to decline Your nectar'd wine, But alone you must drink life's gall. Feast, and your halls are crowded; Fast, and the world goes by.

Succeed and give, it helps you live, But no man can help you die. There is room In the halls of pleasure For a large and lordly train, But one by one we must all file on Through the narrow aisles of pain. Ella Wheeler -Wilcox.
