OTTAWA CITIZEN CLASSIFIED TUESDAY, MAY 19, 2009 C15 ANNOUNCEMENTS visit remembering.ca for obituaries and -memoriams DEATHS DEATHS BROWN, Michael, CD1, ABD EDWARDS, Annie May It is with deep sadness that the family of Michael Joseph Brown, CD1, ABD announce his untimely passing after a tragic vehicle accident. His adoring son Caelum and his devoted wife Cate of 15 years will sadly miss him. He also leaves to mourn, with broken hearts, his parents Barbara Peter Brown, his Uncles Don Brown, Don and Kenny Mullins, as well as his siblings Anne. Chuck, Sister Anne-Marie and his in-laws Ron and Marilyn Mosbeck, and Also, his many nieces and nephews, relatives and cherished friends spread across Canada. He served as a Catholic Naval Chaplain with the Canadian Forces for 27 years.

Though, he also served with the Army and Air Force on the many bases throughout Canada where he ministered to the military and religious communities. His tours of duty included the Former-Yugoslavia; Croatia and Bosnia, Rwanda, Cyprus and the multiple Navy deployments. He was a devoted man of God and a Deacon for over the past 10 years. His service to the military was his passion and he never hesitated to help any soldier or family member in need of pastoral care. Others always came first in Mike's ministry: Others before Self was his life's mantra.

He was looking forward to finishing his Doctorate in Divinity and to carry on with his work in 0c- cupational Stress Injuries as a civilian chaplain. A special acknowledgement needs to be given to Padre Jim Hardwick for the devotion to his friend and brother in God. Also Jenn, Andrew, Shawn and Kathleen forever hugs and kisses. In 1970, he became employed with the Ontario Ministry of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer until his retirement in 1991.
