He was the father of Mrs. Marland Lott of Orem. He was born Nov. 15, 1894 in Peoa, Summit County, the Hannah sor of James Henry and Elizabeth Wilkins Miles. He married Olive Millie Thacker on Jan.

2, 1914 in Heber City; the marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. and Mrs. Miles operated a dairy farm in Mt. Emmons.

He loved the out of doors. He was active in the LDS Church. Survivors include his widow; three sons and six daughters, Mrs. Marland (Violet) Lott of Orem; Mrs. LaVon (Hazel Bernice) Atwood, Fay Miles, Mrs.

Lloyd (Inez) Shiner, Mrs. Grover (Helen) Mitchell, Jay Robert Miles, Douglas Miles, all of Duchesne County; Mrs. Edwin (Veva) Clegg, San Diego, Mrs. Alfred Lynn (Mona) Nebeker, Roy; 52 grandchildren; 56 greatgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lorin (Rose) Stevenson, Granger, and one brother, Rue Miles, Mountain Home, Duchesne County.

Max (Grace) Brown, Orem. Lyle B. Timpson Lyle Bert Timpson, 64, of 48 N. 1000 Provo, died Monday at the Utah Valley Hospital after a sudden illness. He was born Jan.

26, 1907 in American Fork to Royal Herbert and Laura Logie Timpson. He married Thelma Gatherum on May 21, 1927 in Salt Lake City. He was a Utah State Road Commission foreman. Mr. Timpson received his early education in American Fork schools.

After his marriage, they lived in Provo. He worked for Hill Air Force Base, Reminton Arms, Geneva Steel and Kaiser Steel. In 1964 Mr. Timpson began working for the state road commission as a foreman. He had also worked as an independent wholesaler for Royal Baking Co.

and Meadow Gold Dairy. Mr. Timpson was a member of the LDS Church in the Pioneer Ward. He was also a member of BPOE 849 in Provo. For 30 years he sold Christmas trees.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his widow; one daughter and two sons, Bert Timpsen, Spanish Fork; Dell Timpson, Idaho Falls, Mrs. Brent (Vickie) Crompton, Orem; seven grandchildren; his mother, American Fork; two brothers and one sister, Howard Timpson, Salt Lake City; Maurice Timpson, Soda Springs, and Mrs. Ron (Helen) Bate, American Fork. Raymond W. Taylor Raymond W. Taylor, 68, 445 N. 700 E. Provo, died of cancer at his home this morning.

Educated in Payson schools, he was a construction carpenter and had played in a musical group which performed at many social functions. He is survived by his wife, one son, three daughters, Don LeRoy Gale and Mrs. Darrell (Ruth) McPherson, both of Las Vegas; Mrs. Deanna Allan, Spanish Fork; Mrs. Don (Lorraine) Underwood, Salem; 13 grandchildren; three brothers, four sisters; A.

Vern Warner Keele Vern Warner Keele, 54, of 3364 Cherokee Lane, Provo, died Sunday the University Hospital in Salt Lake City of cancer. He was born Feb. 24, 1918 in Spanish Fork to Ernest V. and Elsie Warner Keele. He married Dorothy Cheeseman on Feb.

7, 1945 in Boulder, City, Nev. Mr. Keele attended Spanish Fork schools and then attended Brigham Young University where he majored in English, history and mathematics. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1941 and was commissioned in 1942 in Roswell, N.M.

Since 1947 Mr. Keele was employed by Geneva Steel in the accounting department. He was a 1 member of the LDS Church. He also was a member of the Provo BPOE Lodge and the American Legion. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, sports and gardening.

Survivors include his widow; one daughter and one son, Patricia Keele and Michael Keele, both of Provo; his mother, Spanish Fork; one brother and two sisters, Larry W. Keele and Mrs. Beth K. Gee, both of Spanish Fork; Mrs. David (Merle) Ferguson, Grandview, Wash.

Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel with Bishop Elmo Roundy officiating. The project calls for construction of reinforced concrete retaining walls and irrigation pipe line along that section of Collector Road Route No. 98 from Hobble Creek to 1300 East. The project also calls for construction or improvement of about three quarters of a mile of roadway along the route. Principal items are approximately as follows: 2920 cubic yards of roadway excavation; 728 linear feet of four foot high chain link fence; 728 linear feet of concrete retaining wall; 3057 linear feet of 24 inch reinforced concrete low pressure pipe and 20 irrigation structures.

The project calls for completion in 90 working days. Other bidders include Crandall Excavation, James Reed, Vincent Valley Asphalt, Thorn Construction, $66,207.65. Engineer's estimate was $63,000. Springville Gets First Revenue Check SPRINGVILLE The first payment of the five-year Revenue Sharing Program was received Monday by Springville City in the amount of $48,884. Because the law is retroactive to the first of the year, this disbursement covers the period from January through June 1972.

According to letter signed by Edward A. Fox, Director, Office of Revenue Sharing, "It is anticipated that revenue sharing payments for the second entitlement period running from July 1, 1972, through Dec. 31, 1972 will be made soon after the beginning of 1973. Springville's re-apportioned share in the program is $97,768. Murry G.

Robertson MAGNA Funeral services for Murry, Grandlin Robertson, 56, of S. 5200 Magna, who died Monday at his home, will be announced from 2128 S. State. He was the brother of three Utah County men. Mr.

Robertson was born Oct. 2, 1916 in Fountain Green, Sanpete County, to James Franklin and Lillie Mae Livingston Robertson. He married Helen Olsen Feb. 14, 1942 in Ely, Nev. The marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake Temple.

She died Oct. 7, 1961. He was an employee of Kennecott Copper Corp. Survivors include one son and one daughter, Murry Robertson, Sandy; Mrs. John (Suzanne) Briscoe, West Jordan; six grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Raymond Dick Robertson, Payson; Edwin N.

But the State Highway Department explained that the name might create confusion because the national definition of parkway did not fit the situation. UNIVERSITY Orem Considers Problem Of BYU Diagonal Name A problem has arisen over the official name of the BYU Diagonal, and it will be given a partial airing tonight in the Orem City council meeting which begins at 7 p.m. Edwin E. Lovelace, district highway engineer for the state highway department forwarded a letter to the Orem and Provo City Fathers stating objections to the proposal to name the diagonal, University Parkway. Provo has already installed signs on the road between Second West and ninth East, in Provo.

According to Lt. Max Littlefield, who is in charge of streets and roads in the city, the signs were obtained at a cost of about $25 each. John Huish of Orem. He was born Nov. 23, 1913 in Fairview, Sanpete County, a son of John and Eliza Burton Christensen. He married Louise Fowles on Aug. 30, 1940 in the Manti Temple.

A teacher in the Mt. Pleasant Seminary and at the LDS Institutes of University of Wyoming and University of Idaho, Mr. Christensen attended Snow College, Utah State University and Brigham Young University. Survivors include his widow; one son and one daughter, John Christensen, Puyallup, Mrs. Vaughn (Patricia) White, Hemet, two sisters, Mrs.

The letter from the state highway department was prepared by the State Highway Engineer, Blaine J. Kay. Mr. Kay said the nationally accepted definition of a parkway is an arterial highway for non commercial traffic with full or partial control of access which is usually located within a park, or ribbon of park like development. The BYU Diagonal does not conform to this definition, and there would be concern that visiting motorists might be misled.

The state engineer suggested the road be called an Avenue of or a Boulevard, being careful not to confuse the name with University Avenue. Mr. Kay suggested that the Orem and Provo city fathers get together to consider an alternate name. The question now remains, is anyone interested in six slightly used signs reading University Pkwy. If so, the Provo City Fathers would probably like to hear from you.
