Patricia Panneton passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, at the age of 71.

Pat was married 50 years to her beloved husband Guy and was the mother of two daughters and their families: Jackie and her husband Ed Kus and Louise and her husband John Gilmour and former husband Barry Gurberg. Pat was Grandma to many but most especially her five grandchildren: Richard, Francis, David, Jessica and Kristine who she loved dearly. Born in Montreal, in 1940, she moved to James Bay from 1978 to 1980 and then to Ottawa in 1994 where she spent many happy years surrounded by her grandchildren who cherished her. She most enjoyed her summers at the family cottage in Labelle filled with late nights of playing tiles and afternoons by the dock. As a natural born teacher, she began her career teaching grade 2 on the South Shore of Montreal, shifting to English as a second language soon thereafter.

In Ottawa, she was an extraordinary volunteer who spent many hours at school with her daughter Jackie helping out. Pat had a heart of gold and was generous to everyone who came across her path. She could always be counted on to lend a helping hand or make you laugh. Special thanks go out to Dr. Coloumbe and they are truly angels.

He had a long and successful career, culminating in a distinguished tenure in the federal public service as a Director General for the Department of Communications, and later Industry Canada. Ron was the beloved husband of Joan Begley (nee Gravel). They were married in 1958, and shared 53 extraordinary years together, He will be greatly missed by his children, David (Lori) of Oshawa ON, Terry (Catherine) of Caledon East ON. Judith (Johanne) of Moncton NB, and Christopher (Kimberley) of Orleans ON, as well as his grandchildren, Nicholas, Tyler, Matthew and Lindsay.

Ron will also be missed by his extended family, and countless friends, including the Cumberland Lion's Club and the Blackburn breakfast group. He was predeceased by his sister, June Langley (nee Begley). Ron had an extraordinary spirit, and love of life and laughter. He was a man of enormous strength, humour and dedication. He enjoyed good times with his family and friends, and traveling the world.

His children and grandchildren were his greatest pride and joy. The family wishes to thank Dr. Loree Boyle and her team at the Ottawa General Hospital for their extraordinary care and compassion. Tom passed away peacefully on November 10, 2011 at the age of 74. He is survived by the mother of his five children, Rose Chennette (Laflamme).
