-3 Thursday, November 16, 1989 The Daily Herald, Provo, Utah ArtsEntertainment 'Huckleberry Finn5 and Tom Sawyer' most popular books among governors Nickelodeon slates Thanksgiving special rades, Macho, Scrounge, Stooge and Sleaze. The pressing question in all this '50's style fun is is 'Ripper?" "Thanksgiving Dream" centers on the true meaning of giving thanks and unfolds in a Depression-era New York, where an unemployed mother and her two children may very well have to celebrate their holiday over a meager can of beans. On Thanksgiving evening, as they lie in bed, the two of them are whisked downstairs as characters in their own dreams. As they wander through their kitchen, which has become a fantasy come to life, they notice bizarre happenings. It might end up that they have a magnificent Thanksgiving after all.

"What do turkeys eat on Thanksgiving?" and "How are cranberries made?" are just some of the questions which will be served up animation style. The tongue-in-cheek Thanksgiving "Did You Know's" will air throughout the program. "Nick's Thanksgiving Fest" is sponsored by Genreal Mills' Cinnamon Toast Crunch. NEW YORK Nickelodeon presents a very unique holiday offering for its viewers, "Nick's Thanksgiving Fest," an originally produced half-hour animated special showcasing two very different Thanksgiving stories. The two tales, "Thanksgiving Nightmare" and "Thanksgiving Dream," will air on Nickelodeon, the only channel for kids, Wednesday, Nov.

22, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 23, at 1 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 24, at 4 p.m. (ET).

"Thanksgiving Nightmare" unfolds as the family goes for a walk after' their sumptuous holiday feast. When Ripper, the family cat, is left alone with the leftover meal, the nightmare really begins!
