Once you claim your place in the history books, however, no one will be able to erase your name or your accomplishments. There is a possibility that your place will be usurped by one younger and far more devious than yourself, for you are vulnerable to flattery and others can sometimes take advantage of you. You are not the kind to find fault in others. Though you are friendly, gregarious and fun to be with, you are quite self-reliant, and you rarely have to depend on others for your bread and butter This does not mean, however, that you cannot work as part of a team; you are quite generous, and you will share both workload and credit. With those suits elimi nated, a trump lead puts West on play for a club ruff for East but it's not enough. After East ruffs dummy's club queen, he must lead a red suit and South enjoys a ruff and discard to score his 10th winner. Is there another way to cinch the game? South will also succeed if he refuses to win the club king and also refuses to cover when West later leads a second club. This leaves the defenders with only two clubs and the trump ace.

Survival Footsteps Our Century: Spanish War Shortstories Improv ATLANTA AP) It isn't basketball, but tonight's prime-time game live from The Omni is sure to see just as many elbows and inside moves. "I think it's going to be awful," said NBC reporter Lisa Myers as she considered the prospect of grabbing delegates and politicians for floor interviews during the four nights of the Democratic National Convention starting today. "It looks like it's going to be absolute murder," said ABC's Brit Hume. Two of The Omni arena would fit into the Moscone Center in San Francisco where the 1984 Democratic convention was held. Not only is The Omni much smaller, but the massive podium and camera platform built for the occasion eat up a lot of the maneuvering room for reporters down in the fray.

A floor reporter's job necessarily entails getting from one state delegation to another across the halL sometimes on a moment's notice. At pen if there were a law against network reporters using the term "make our way" during a convention. "We'd come to a complete standstill," he said. "We never just go somewhere at a convention. We 'make our I guess we're going to 'make our way' with difficulty through this convention." Not only will it be crowded, but all the television lights will make it hot.

And it will be noisy. A blaring orchestra will make it difficult for floor reporters to hear instructions from control booths in the trailers behind the hall. 'The only thing worse than being here," said Hume, "is not being here." C-SPAN plans to carry uninterrupted live coverage of the convention sessions, beginning at 6:30 p.m. EDT. CNN will cover the entire convention, interspersed with commentary and interviews.

The big three networks plan two hours of prime- time coverage, 9-11 p.m. most convention sites, there is an outer corridor just off the floor where reporters can rush around to the other side. Not at The Omni. Getting across the floor will mean pushing through the masses. "Within about the first 30 minutes, I think we can anticipate gridlock," said Myers.

Bill Plante of CBS said he was "more worried about getting a story than getting crushed." He considers his assignment a choice one, putting him close to large contingents of Jesse Jackson supporters in the Michigan and California delegations. "I think there'll be action. I don't know how hard it's going to be to move around and cover it. But sharp elbows are tools of the trade," he said. "No question about it, the hall has been turned into a television studio," Plante said.

"But we still have to find the actors in the drama there." It's stupendous. And it's official: Dorney Park plans to have the tallest wooden roller coaster in the world. Park officials Friday unveiled their plans for a new $6 million wooden roller coaster they say will be ready by next spring. The announcement was made on the proposed site of the coaster, which will be 150 feet high nine feet higher than the current tallest wooden coaster and feet long and reach speeds of up to 60mph. "What you've got on your hands is a major-league thrill machine," Paul L.

Ruben, editor of RollerCoaster! Magazine, told the Allentown Morning CalL "This has the potential to certainly be a top 10 coaster," said Ruben, who recently published a top 10 roller-coaster list. At 150 feet, he said, it would easily pass the the 141-foot "Beast" at King's Island, Ohio, near Cincinnati. But the Beast has drops of 138 feet and 141 feet, he said. The new Dorney coaster will have an initial drop of about 95 feet, which is similar to its current coaster drop. "It's one thing to build a coaster high.

It's another to drop people a long way," he said. Harris Weinstein, chairman and president of the park, unveiled the coaster drawing and made the announcement Weinstein said the goal of the coaster was not to necessarily attract more customers but to add more thrills for park guests. "The wooden coaster has been a dying breed," Weinstein said. "For every one that's built, four others go out of commission, and we feel the wooden coasters still provide the greatest thrills." At one time, 1,500 wooden roller coasters existed, Ruben said. That number has dropped to 90.

Ironically, Friday's announcement was made during the 65th anniversary of Dorney Park's original wooden roller coaster, which is still in operation. Many enthusiasts attending the announcement said the popular bright yellow wooden coaster is still on their top 10 list. Ruben said the addition of the second coaster will put Dorney Park into major amusement park status. "That's what people want," said Ruben, who is an executive member of American Coaster Enthusiasts. "If you ask the guests what they want, more often than not they'll say a new roller coaster." Di not embarrassed by "Dirty Diana" LONDON (AP) Princess Diana was in the audience, but singer Michael Jackson went ahead anyway and sang his hit "Dirty Diana," about a woman of loose morals. The 27-year-old princess smiled. Jackson had been expected to leave the song out of his concert at Wembly Stadium because of the princess presence Saturday night, but an aide said the singer "felt the fans would feel let down." Diana, an avid pop music fan, and Prince Charles met backstage with Jackson before the start of his third sell-out concert. "I was so excited at meeting the royal couple," Jackson said. "I am very, very happy that they have come to watch me perform.

Fox and his one-time TV girlfriend Tracy Pollan were married at a country inn over the weekend. Fox, 26, and Pollan, 27, were wed Saturday, his publicist, Nanci Ryder, said Sunday.

Pollan was Fox's former girlfriend on NBC's "Family Ties." Fox's agent had announced the impending marriage on Friday but wouldn't say where or when it would take place.
