Toney Stowe and Mrs Irene Wells of Danville She also leaves several sisters and brothers: Mrs Eva Stowe Mrs Wlldie Yeatts and Mrs Lillie Jones of Danville Mrs Lounettie Herndon of Chatham Hearp and proposed fluoridation of water supply to make for more healthy teeth among children Herbert Hoffman secretary of the organization has advised members on worthwhile work be ing done along the lines of sight conservation a propject of the club In addition to examinations treatments and glasses provided the official reported on assistance given in a case in which a child lost an eye after being struck a pellet from a slingshot patch In that connection she ap pealed today to motorists for their cooperation by bringing their reg istration cards No new license plates are be ing issued by the state this year in a move to conserve metal need ed for defense purposes Instead a metal tab bearing the date 1952 which will cover the 1951 date on the past year's tags is being is sued This can be attached by bolt ing Persons buying cars and getting fags for them will be issued stand ard license plates Although the tabs and new tags are on hand they cannot be placed on sale until the Saturday March 15 date It Was said that sizeable numbers of persons among those receiving their new registration cards by mail are appearing at the office for their new tags and of course have to be turned away Mrs Carter also reminded car owners that the tabs or tags as the case might be are at a fixed $10 fee this year instead of 30 cents per hundred pounds weight of vehicles as in the past In this connection she called attention to new registration cards which specify the 30 cents a hundred fee Some premature applicants have argued the point Mrs Carter ex plained that the cards were printed before the change to a flat $10 fee was recently adopted The official also advised mo torists who might lose license plates If both are lost a new set may be obtained upon application at the office If one is lost a re placement may be secured also upon application and surrender of the plate which was not lost since different numbers would be in volved on the ultimate deci sion whether to run again
