Malcolm was hero from his fine black farm northeast of town yesterday. Two cases of diptheria in the family of J. F. Harvell on route No. 3 are now recovering.

Carroll and wifp, of Handley, visited relatives in the city and vicinity the tirst of the week. The Erosophians elected Frank Wood, president; Jim Boyd, vice president, and Authur Boyd, secretary. The Philomathians elected Claud VaBce, president; Will Felker, vice president, and Randall For- Fred Gentry, of Baylor University, Waco, visited the college Saturday night. We are gUd to know Fred is getting aloni; well in sciiool. He is well pleased with the school and his work. The whole school was delighted to near that Walter Splawn is to represent University in the state oratarical contest at Fort Worth next montii.

The debaters of the Baptist college are busy making preparations for the two debates with Clarenden and Denton respectively, the time for which is drawing near. L. Ward went Tuesday to Waco to attend a meeting of the Educational Commission, which has in charge the endow-1 ment of the correlated schools of the a i denomination in Texas.
