1 Mrs. Koppenhaver was born Jan. 30, 1930 in Valley View and was the. daughter of Leroy and Ruth Ney Kessler. She had been employed as secretary for the Mental Health and Mental Retardation of Berks County for five years.

5. Mrs. Clarkson was born in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Gregorio and Concetta Tassone. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church. Surviving are her husband, Joseph J.

Head injury kills Pottsville man City police said Clarence Schuster, 51, a resident of the Park Hotel in Pottsville, died in a cell at City Hal Wednesday morning as a result of a massive fractured skull. Schuster was found lying on the" ground near North Centre and Harrison Streets at 3:20 a.m.

Wednesday in an inebriated con- dition, police said. He was charged with public drunkeness and placed in a City Hall cell. y-' Officers who checked on Schuster every half hour through the night found no' life signs whenjjthey checked, him at 9 a.m:,,'. according to police. He was transported by Pottsville Lions Ambulance to the Good Hospital, where he was pron-' ounced dead on arrival by Dr.

Greg Holley, police said. The body was then transferred to Potts-ville 'Hospital, where Dr. Richard Bindie, pathologist, performed an autopsy, police said. His report showed that Schuster died as a result of a massive fractured skull suffered during a fall sometime before police found him. Snow and snow flurries are expected in the forecast period, today until Friday morning, from the Carolinas to the lower Great Lakes and western New England.

Yutko, 57, of Weston, died Wednesday in St. Joseph's Hazleton Mr. Yutko was a member of St; Joseph's Church, Nuremberg; Legion Post 699, Beaver Township Fire Company, Shenandoah Fish and Game Club, BKBlack Creek Sportsmen's Club, Nuremberg Fire Company. Prior to his illness he was employed as a carpenter. He Was an Army veteran of World War and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a former member of the Susquehanna Valley Regional Medical Program and served on its various committees was a former member of the Blue Shield Claim Review Board. Dr. Toth received the Schering award for his efforts in the advancement of podiatry and podiatry education and March of Dimes honored him for his work with the walkathon. Gerald Rettig, of Burbank, formerly of Pottsville, died Jan. 29. Mr. Rettig was a son of the late William O. and Mary E.

Rettig, 'of Pottsville. He at tended St. John's School and was a 1923 graduate of Pottsville High School. He played center on the PHS football team and was a graduate of Penn State University. He returned to Pottsville last October for the 55th anniversary reunion of his class.

He was a retired employee of the Lockheed Corporation in California. His wife preceded him in death. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Frances Boone and three grandchildren, in California; two sisters, Mrs. Karl F.

Machamer, 63, of 445 Julian Williamstown, died Wednesday morning at home. He was a 'veteran of the Marine Corps and retired employee of the Schuylkill Haven Reserve Center with 12 1 years of service. 1 Mr. Machamer was born in Williamstown, son of the late Mark M. and Alice Jones Machamer.

His father died in October 1976. He had been a police officer for Williams Township for 13 years and a forest fire warden for Williams Valley area for 25 years. He was a member of Ebenezer -Evangelical Congregational Church, Fraternal Order of Police and Williamstown Liberty Hose Company No. 1. He was a member and a past commander of American Legion Post 239, Williamstown.

Surviving are his widow, the former Elsie Hummel; a son, Robert M. of Hegins; two daughters; Mrs. Warren Lentz, Selinsgrove, Mrs. Robert Enck Myerstown; seven grandchildren; four brothers, H. Benjamin, Carl E.

Mr. King, born in Phoenix ark; was the son of the late Bernard and -Kate Brown King, and had lived most of his life in Pottsville(. Before retiring 18 years ago he had been employed by Shen-Penn. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace, Church and the Holy Name Society. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Anna Canfield, five years ago and a Bernard, 10 years ago.
