Now that he's a free man again, Andy Capasso went to see his nephew, Michael Capasso, 34, at the New York University Summer Theater the other night in "Sweet Charity." He enjoyed the show immensely and liked Michael in the role as the manager of the dance hall. But when he went backstage, it wasn't Bess Myerson on his arm, but what looked like a much younger version of Bess. Andy even introduced her to Michael. Hmm.

Somebody new? ABE FOUND A HOME Abe Hirschfeld, who has run for the U.S. Senate and City Council president, has made the big move to Miami Beach. He's now in the running for city commissioner. And, Abe is asking for money to help his campaign! Once a big Democratic fund-raiser and financial backer, Abe actually sent out a mailing looking for contributions. He now owns a hotel in Miami Beach.

20 kickoff of the United Way of Tri-State, for New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Reagan is honorary chairman of United Way International. Then, he'll be guest of honor and receive the Business Council for the United Nations medal for "outstanding contributions to the attainment of lasting world peace," at the UN ambassador's dinner. On Sept. 21, Reagan will visit West Point, where he will receive the Sylvanus Thayer Award as an outstanding citizen of the U.S.

Nancy's book is being written for Random House. than 100,000 rock fans gathered in the Moscow stadium that bears his name last night for the first of two benefit concerts devoted to fighting drug use in both the U.S. and the Soviet Union. The Nickelodeon cable TV channel is starting a new series called "Hey, Dude!" and Kelly has the lead in it. She plays a riding instructor at a dude ranch and it's right up her alley. Horses are her hobby, and she rides every weekend at her parents' summer home in Montauk, where she ovns a quarter horse named Super. Kelly grew up in Lake Ronkonkoma and went to Sachem High School. She keeps a pad in Manhattan, where the series is filmed.

George Burns and Bob Hope will perform together for the first time, I OJ with Dionne Warwick, at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Oct 1, in a night billed as "179 Years of Comedy." Hope quipped, "George is 100 years old and I'm 79!" That's 86-year-old Hope talking. Burns is only 93. But Hope said George gets top billing because tie recalls when they played on the same bill in vaudeville and Hope was listed fourth: beneath the team of George Burns Grade Allen.
