After the war, he returned to Canada, joined the Department of External Affairs as a Foreign Service officer with postings in Geneva, Tokyo, Paris and Oslo. Predeceased by his wife Ruth (nee Kehoe) and brother William Gordon. Step-father of Deirdre and Darragh, father of Mary and Sheila Beingessner.
