Ben McReady (Adam Skanks) wait out a 10-day storm before he escorts her on the four-day journey to Dawson City. Over the 10 days, the pair initially suspicious of one another come to a slow dawning of trust, as she sets down the footprints of clues for him to follow, and both learn about freedom, love and resolve. Langston's performance as Lillian is particularly strong, as she skilfully wavers from almost half-crazed at times to the voice of reason.

Skanks, as McReady, is no slouch, either; the constable's own unexpected journey of discovery unfolds nicely and believably. All the Way to Russia With Love continues at Arts Court, 2 Daly until Sunday. Tickets for the show (8 p.m. today and tomorrow, 2 p.m. Sunday) are $12, $8 for students and seniors.

The general consensus is she was a Russian immigrant who, after years living in New lYork and working at menial jobs, was more homesick than rhost people can imagine. "Her English wasn't good, but 'lie'r understanding of maps was, and she spent hours in a New York City public library, study- ing and copying them. '-Then one day in 1927, this late-2os woman left the library and, armed with only some hand-drawn maps, a few dollars and two loaves of bread, began to walk to Russia, where her parents had been arrested under Stalin's revolution.

1 Across the U.S., through B.C., into the Yukon and Alaska, across the Bering Strait and to Siberia, she walked, sleeping in the open and living on bread, berries and tea. Seventy-five years after Lil-; lian Ailing left New York, her story is brought to life again, ROD MACIVOR, THE OTTAWA CITIZFN Teletubbies, the baby-talking aliens that have become the favourites of pre-schoolers around the world in the last five years, will have some pint-sized clones in the coming season. Last year, the British producers of the surreal series stopped making the original half-hour episodes currently seen on TVO and began work on these less ambitious 10-minute Teletubbie shorts. Teletubbies Everywhere is a 52-part series in which the original Teletubbie characters Tinky Winky, Laa-Laa, Dipsy and Po play games, make music, and count. Each segment will also have a film clip of children from around the world having fun, but won't feature the elaborate sets of the original series.

Beginning Monday, the shorts will air at 9:10 a.m. as part of TVO Kids morning pre-school programming in addition to the regularly scheduled half-hour Teletubbies show at 6:30 a.m. TVO has yet to air all of the half-hour shows already produced, and will introduce a new batch in the latter half of the coming season.
