Lifelong career in aviation, joining KLM in 1937 and Eastern Air Lines in 1964. He had numerous postings in Europe, the Far East, South America and Canada in 1 958, finally retiring in 1 982 in Montreal, where he continued to live in his beloved home in Rosemere. Life Member of Skal (joined in Rome, 1950) and former Montreal Rotary Club Member. A dedicated sportsman in his youth, he was named Netherlands Olympic Attache at the Montreal (1976) and Lake Placid (1980) Olympics.
