The property is now owned by Mr. Edward Mealey, of Hagerstown, and it is said that operations will be pushed right along and considerable improvements made. Mr.

G. T. Hodges shipped the first ear-load of new wheat from Shepherdstown on Tuesday. Mr. Lemen has been buying some also for his mill.

The market has stiffened some the past week, and our local dealers are paying OG cents today. Messrs. Becker Bios, have set out 3,000,000 tobacco plants on their big farm on the Blue Ridge mountain, east of the Shenandoah river, and expect to raise a great crop. Demory Brothers have just raised an immense building for the curing of the tobacco. The ladies of the Lutheran Church will hold a lawn festival Friday and Saturday evenings of next week, July 2o and 24, at the new college.
