There can be no question as to the idea the famous artist intended to put across.

The picture shows the typical American family out for an afternoon or evening spin in a Ford roadster. On a steep hill a larger, higher-priced car is attempting to pass the smaller, less costly roadster and the Ford climbs steadily up the hill, ahead of the other. You will note the look of satisfaction on the face of the driver of the car. He knows that his car will never falter on the hill and he is confident that he will have less trouble in making the grade than the driver of the other car. On the face of the woman is a look of silent contempt, while the small boy a typical youngster with the love for a race in his heart is showing his pleasure at the performance of the Ford with a derisive laugh at the bigger car.
