Mutuets, 877X483. Strike Out cops Prix d'Ete MONTREAL (UPI) -Strike Out, with Keith Waples in the sulky, Sunday won the $100,000 Prix d'Ete at Blue Bonnets Raceway. It was the richest race ever run in Canada in either harness or thoroughbred racing. Strike Out's first place prize money of $50,000 boosted his total earnings for 1972 to $190,391. The three-year-old -colt owned by the Bee Jay Stables of Oshawa, picked up his ninth win of the season in 17 starts.

Strike Outs' stable mate, Alley Fighter, driven by the stable's chief trainer, John Hayes, set the pace in this open race for three year olds. Alley Fighter led the field of eight horses at the quarter pole and at the halfway mark, with Strike Out running, a dose second. Just after the halfway point, Strike Out pulled ahead to win by two and a half lengths over Bob Hilton, which was driven by world champion onver Herve Fuion. E. B.

Albatross finished the mile In 1.58 2-S to pay $3.30, $2.30 and $2.10. It was only the 13th two-minute mile in Greenwood's 98-year history but the 32nd in the career of Albatross.
