Another year of record-breaking success was rounded out at the 27th annual meeting of the Civil Service Co-Operatlve Credit Society. The society haa weathered all the storm of the depression so well that it now attract numerous depositor who formerly held aloof, but the administration haa determined that the interest of the saver of smsll monthly amount shall be consid ered before those of member who hve fund in sufficient amount to enable them to make other invest ments. The society wa organized to aid the systematic saver and the emergency borrower, 'end those purpose are still it guiding principles. The society now ha 2,700 member, an increase of 10 percent during IMS: it starts at the end of the year totalled $327,862. and after paying the usual interest and bonus on deposits and raising the guarantee reserve to $17,000, a surplus of Ml remained in hand.

Share and deposits total $303,206. loan out standing $227,801. bond and debenture held $81,000. Depositor wer paid $12,203 in interest and a bonus. The society expect to have many requests for loan from civil servant who are going on the Vimy pilgrimage next Summer.

These will be sympathetically dealt with long a fund are available but the rule of "tint come, first served'' will have to be observed, and applications for loan on account of aicknes or other misfortune, which form the greater part of the society's business, will always be given precedence.
