Roone Arledge, president of American Broadcasting Company sports and Tony Hulman, president of the Indianapolis motor speedway, said in a Joint announcement Monday that the world's richest auto race will -be seen in prime time at 8.30 10.30 p.m. EST. The race is expected to end 'at 3.30 EST, leaving only a five-hour lag between the live race and the television showing of the event. In the past, home viewers had to endure a 72-hour embargo because of closed-circuit television theatre commitments. Stations in Indiana will be blacked out for the prime-time telecast.

Terms of the contract were not 'revealed, nor did the two executives reveal any plans for continued live closed-circuit theatre TV.
