Also survived by his three grandchildren Matthew Baldwin and Ryan and Rachel Carr. He will be sadly missed by his brother Ron (Dorothy) Carr of Belleville and his sister Patricia (Norman) Corfe of Hamilton, Ontario and by his many nieces and nephews. David is predeceased by his son Tony in 1975 and his grandson Craig in 1988.

Brig. Gen. Carr was born in Hamilton, Ontario in 1924, son of the late Dr. Leeming A. Carr and Mrs.

Betty Carr. He retired from the Canadian Armed Forces in 1977 after 35 years of distinguished military service. Brig. Gen. Carr served as flight navigator with the R.C.A.F.

during WW II and was taken P.O.W. after being shot down while flying night mission. His military career included overseas duty at R.A.F. Staff College, Bracknell, U.K. 1965-1968 and NATO's S.H.A.P.E.

in Belgium 1974-1976. He also served as Base Commander, C.F.B. Chilliwack, B.C. 1971-1974. David will be fondly remembered for his gentle wit, kindness and generosity of spirit.

He touched the hearts of all those who knew him. At his request, no service will be held. Cremated remains will be interred beside those of his son Tony at the Royal Canadian Legion Cemetery, Chilliwack, B.C. at a later date.
