10 Suits Settled For S2.3M in Fifth Ave. Fire By ROGER WETIIERIXGTOX Suits brought in the Fifth Ave. fire that took 11 lives in 1909 were settled in Federal Court for $2,370,000 yesterday. The settlement, recorded before Judge Harold R. Tyler will be divided among five persons who were badly injured in the fire and the survivors of the 11 who died.

The cases of five of the plaintiffs, represented by attorneys Harry H. Lipsig and Charles Van der Walle, were brought in Federal Court because the five lived outside New York State, Lipsig said. He said the settlement was expanded to include 11 other suits brought in State Supreme Court. Insurance companies for the tenant, Favid Rosen Associates, will pay of the total.
