god griigelw ieratrt. The Woman's Club. At tbe meeting of tbe "Woman's Club on Saturday, January 25th, read extracts from Mrs. Abba Geold Woolson'a book on "Dresa Beform," nud gave several reasons to show that the atyle of is faulty, the chief being that the drees contracts tbe vital organs, Is heavy and burdensome, and arrests free circulation. Various styles of dress and underclothing were discussed, the ladles giving their personal experience.

By request, the waist measure of the girls in one of the schools was taken, with the following result: Fourteen girls, age varying from 3 to 7 years, average waist measure, 211nohes; thirty girls, average age 6 years 11 months, average of waist, 23.11 inches. These children will diminish Instead of increasing their waist measure when they are grown, owing to tbe modern style of dressing. The Man's Club. At a meeting of the Mau'a Club held last Friday week, Mr. Pulsifer read extracts from the writings of Percy Emile Dalgatty Pleasantou, on "Gents' Furnishing Goods." At tho conclusion of the reading Mr.

Pulslfer gave several reasons why tbe architecture of the modern pantaloon is faulty and tbat this article of apparel should be supplanted by another more flowing and giaceful which might be attached to tbe coat and known as subcoat, or small-coat or petty-coat. Tba undesirableness of modern suspenders waa seriously discussed and it was thought that, if worn at all, they should be worn so tbat the buckles would show on the outside. Shirts which open In the back were universally condemned. Tbe string upon the drawers leg was declared a relic of barbarism which no man of character would submit to. The length and breadth of beam of fourteen small boys captured upon the street was taken as basis of statistical information.

Their toes were also counted, aud their aggregate number found to be 139 (one boy being minus one tee, cut oil); average number of toes, 9.214 each; seventy toes were on right feet, sixty-nine on left feel; difference of toes between right and left feet, one; average ditlereuoe to each boy, one-fourteenth of toe. The club decided that tots should be worn. Funny LUvenport gives this description of Irving, the London actor: "He is like an ugly caricature of Booth, with little bits ot twinkling eyes, dark skin, and one leg so much shorter than the other that he walks with a decided halt. I almost dreaded to see him as Hamlet, but, do you know, his acting was so wonderful tbat bo one could think of bis Tbe new biblical drama, "rfaul; or, tbe Witohof Eudor," did not! draw remunerative audiences in Boston, although it presented the story with dignity, excellent musical features, and good acting, find was formally approved by tbe Society for the Elevation nf the Stage. At the same time, "Uncle Tom's "The nnd "Pinafore" were filling the other theaters.

April 2, 1577. Mr, Having read In your paper reports of the remarkable cures ol catarrh, I am induced to tell what I know about catarrh," and I fancy the "snuff" and "inhaling tube" makers (mere dollar grabbers.) would be glad If they could emblazon a cure iv the papers. For 20 years 1 suffered with catarrh. Tbe nasal passages became completely closed. "Snuff," "dust," "ashes," "inhallngtubes," and "sticks" wouldn't work, though at Intervals I would sniff up the so-called catarrh snuff, until I became a valuable tester for such medicines.

I gradually grew worse, and uj one can know how much 1 suffered or what a miserable being I was. My head ached over my eyes until 1 was confined to my bed tor many successive days, suffering the most intense pain, which at one time lasted continuously for 168 hours. All sense ol smell and taste goue, sight and bearing Impaired, body shrunken and weaaenea nervous Bystem snat tered and constitution broken, and iwas hawking and spitting seven-eighths of tbe time. 1 prayed lor death to relieve me oi my suffering. A favorable notice In your paper ot Dr.

Sage's Catarrh Remedy induced me to purchase a package and use it with Dr. Pierces Douche, which applies the remedy by hydrostatic pressure, the only way compatible with common sense. Well, Mr. Editor. It did not cure me In three-iourths of a second, nor In one hour or month, but lv lees than eight minutes 1 was relieved, and in three months entirely cured, and have remained so over sixteen months.

While using the Catarrh remedy, 1 used Dr. Pierces Golden Medical Discovery to purity my blood aud strengthen my stomach. I also kept my liver active and bowels regular by the use of his Pleasaut Purgative Pellets. If my experience will induce other sufferers lo seek the same means ot relief, this letter will have answered its purpose. Yours nuy, S.
