SHOW BUSINESS S.R.O. OO 1 Symphonic Jan The Modern Jazz Quartet will appear with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Jan. 18 at Carnegie Hall. Three works for jazz quartet and symphony will have local premieres William Me iv Play Group Bo ivs; Wicket Opens for 'Coat' By JAMES DAVIS "When Did You Last See My Mother," the first production of a new outfit called the Young: People's Repertory Company, opens at 7:30 tonight at the Sheridan Smith's "Interplay" and John Lewis' "The Spiritual" and "Jazz Ostinato" and Miljenko Pro-haska's "Concertino for Jazz Quartet and Strings" will have its world premiere. Guest to Lead LI Symphony Eleazar de Carvvalho, Brazilian conductor, will lead the Pro Arte Symphony Orchestra of ong Island at Saturday and Sunday afternoon programs at the Hofstra Univversity Plaj-house in Hempstead.

The Brazilian, on five weeks leave from the St. Louis Symphony where he is music director, will conduct Oliver Messiaen's "Oiseaux Exotiques." Pianist Joey de Carvalho, wife of the conductor, will be the soloist. The weekend performances will be among six appearances de Carvalho is making in this country and in Europe Square Playhouse.
