OBE, ED, CD, BA, (Ret'd) At National Defence Medical Centre, Ottawa, on Saturday, May 13, 1989, aged 84 years. Beloved husband of Agnes M. (Nan) Love and the late Elizabeth Stirling. Dear father of Sheila (wife of Judge M.J. Fitzpatrlck) of Cornwall and Desmond (husband of Maureen O'Connor) of Old Chelsea, Quebec.

Predeceased by a son, Michael J. He is survived by his brother, W. John Dunn of Old Chelsea, 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He attended St. Alexander's College and graduated from both Ottawa and Toronto Universities; he joined the teaching staff at CCVS, Cornwall, in 1925.

At the outbreak of the war, he was 2nd-in-Com-mand of the SD Highlanders and proceeded Overseas where he served in various staff appointments at CM HQ, London. In 1942 he was appointed CO of the SD Gs with the rank of Lieut. -Colonel. In 1943 he served in Africa and Italy, commanding Canadian Section GHQ Allied Armies in Italy with the rank of Colonel. In 1945 he served with 2nd Echelon, Canadian Army Pacific Force, following which he became Director of Organization, Ottawa.

In 1947 he was Camp Commandant, Camp Borden, graduated from the Staff College and was then appointment in 1949 Area Commander of the newly formed Newfoundland Area. In 1952 he attended NDC, Kingston, and was then appointed Commander Eastern Ontario Area. In 1955 he was appointed Senior Military Advisor Canadian Delegation, International Supervisory Commission Indo-China. On return from Indochina in late 1956 he was appointed Commander of Central Ontario Area, Oakville, retiring from the Canadian Army in 1960. Upon retirement from the Army he initiated the Adult Re-Training Scheme, becoming Principal of George Brown College from which position he retired in 1970.
