In his sleep, at his daughter's home in Toronto, on Monday, February 22, 1988, four days after his 82nd birthday and five years after suffering a massive stroke. Beloved son of John and Sarah (nee Stinson) Greer of Menvale. Beloved husband of Freda McClelland. Beloved father of Jean Dorman and Gail Greer and of the late Barbara Kir-by and Katherine Greer. He was president of the Ontario Whole Milk Producers' League and for many years president of the Ottawa Valley Milk Producers' Association, three times president of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, a vice president of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and president of the Co-Operators Insurance Association. He was a Legionnaire and past president of the City View Kiwanis Club. In 1967 Gordon Greer was awarded the Centennial Medal for valued services to the nation. A Memorial Service will be held in Ottawa in the Spring, followed by burial in the Merivale United Church Cemetery.
