When James Craven, formerly of jftntana. and Lena Lampreeht were one at Mount GUeed, Ohio, last week by a justice of the peace, the bridegroom bad married the last of a "family of six sisters, five of whom had been wooed and won by Craven only to meet with a violent death Boon after becoming his wife. Thirty years sgo Craven, who bad a trading post ia Montana, met the Lampreeht family, and became infatuated with Nora, the eldest of six namely daughters. The courtship -was short but decisive, and the wed Sing followed shortly. But Craven was unaware that Charley Wolf, a half breed Indian, bad set Ills heart on wedding the buxom Nora, and when he heard the wedding bells ringing for the trader the half-breed swore to be revenged.

A few weeks after the maralage poor Nora shot dead in her doorway by the half breed. Wolf made bis escape, and Craven, after four years of mourning, decided that it was not good for man to be alone. So be paid his address to Karle Lampreeht, the next oldest daughter. With the half breed a fugitive from justfo. Craven felt comparatively safe, but one day he found that his second wife bad been laid low by a bullet fired by the same murderer, who bad evidently taken an oath of extermination.

Craven made an earnest attempt to draw a bead on the assassin, but Wolfe was too adroit and fOtout of the way. Then the widower reached the con elusion that a period of quiet matri menial life was before him, so he eourtei and married the third sister, by name Etfie. Tne couple had just settled down to a happy existence when crack went the Winchester of Wolfe, and Craven was again a widower This bad discouraging effect on the trader, who decided to leave Montana aud go to Ohio, where a man could Use in peace with his wife. Ao oordinglv. be settled down In this town.

He soon became restless, however, and wandered back to Montana, where he prevailed upon the fourth sister to accept him for better or for worse. She consented, but on the condition that he make an effort to half-breed before he "did" her. Craven admitted that this was necessary precaution, so, after the vreddiniz, he shouldered his rifle and vent out in search of bis foe. Wolf had not been invited to the ceremony, but he came around shortly after Helen had taken possession of her Tioma. Craven, however, caught sight of him first, and with a well-directed bullet, removed Wolfe to another sphere of usefulness.

But Helen soon afterward was taken ill and uied, and Craven dooided that luok was against blm. However, went to Bertha, the fifth daughter and prevailed on her to accept bis hand and heart. Everything went along nicely until Bertha was thrown from a horse a killed. Then Craven came to the conelusion that he was indeed a matrimonial hoodoo, and returned sadly to Ohio. But he recollected tbat Lena, the youngest and last of the Lampreeht girls, was still in Montana.

So he sent for her to come here and be bit bride. She came and they were married, and all the people in this town are wondering what will happen to Lena Senator Kayner of Maryland introduced a nun.ner of bills relating to private Maryland claims.
