1 1 THE OTTAWA JOUHNAE M. Schonnop Of Carp Dies MONDAY, JANUARY i eeMa-HaaBBsaaaaBssassaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBB-Baaaa-aaBa Widely Known -Valley Athlete CARP, Out, Jan. Maynard Edward Schonnop, prominent la business and athletic circle here, died on Saturday at an Ottawa hpepital following an Illness ot two month. He wet In his 29uyear, Born at Carp, he was a ton of Edward Schonnop and the late Mri. Schonnop, formerly Jeule McDonald.

NMr. Schonnop was one- ot the most active membera of the Carp Athletic Anociation. Fond of sports, Mr. Schonnop excelled In hockey and wss goal keeper for the Carp teams since he was 14 years of age. Be umpired, most of the local aoftball games and retereed hockey matches in the district For, the past five year be conducted a refreshment store in the town.

He was member of St Paul's United Church. Carp. Surviving are his father, three listers, Mrs. William Johnston, Pembroke, end the Misses Ruth end Helen Schonnop, both ot Ot-tawa, and one brother, Desmond Schonnop, in Western Canada. The funeral will be held on Monday from his home at 2.13 p.m.

Popularity of the Twilight Club programs was reflected in the attendance which filled the hall to capacity and accorded enthusiastic applause to the three musicians taking part Muriel Hickman, pianist; Freda tdelstein, violinist and Mrs. Launce O'Leary, contralto. A very effective exposition ot a Bach Toccata was presented.

Clear singing tone and mellow ness in melodic passages was attained by Miss Freda Edelstein. violinist in "Romance" of Svend-sen. The Romance was delightfully done and contrasted effectively with the more brilliant -Hejre KaU" (Hubay) with which it was grouped.

Violin and piano blended in appropriate balance la Miss Edelsteln's performance ot the Mendelssohn Concerto in minor, first movement The piano part was excellently played by Daisy Roe Moore, who also accompanied the other violin selections. In two vocal groups, Mrs. Launce O'Leary evidenced clear, sweet and well-rounded tone.
