POOR QUALITY ORIGINAL The Citizen Carrier Chronicle March 1982 For and about our 3,100 Citizen carriers Volume 1, Issue 10 Dave Waldron receives $25 From supervisor Danny Laplante Silver dollars draw reward David Waldron is $25 richer just for telling us about himself. He is the winner in a Citizen circulation department draw for 25 silver dollars. Each carrier was asked to fill in a questionnaire which included his interests, hobbies, achievements and accomplishments; 1,047 questionnaires were returned. David's circulation department supervisor, Danny Laplante, presented him with the 25 dollar pieces. Although 14-year-old David is the money winner, many other carriers will be contacted and become the subject of stories in Carrier Chronicle.

in Carrier Chronicle. David, who delivers in the Benlea Drive area of Nepean, plans to keep his 25 silver dollars and put them with his small coin collection. But the teenager's big hobby is collecting comic books. "I have 153 comic books and one, which was given to me by the brother of a friend, is worth $9. It cost 20 cents in 1972," said the grade 8 pupil at Sir Winston Churchill School.

Like everyone else, David feels the pinch of inflation: "Although I've only been collecting comics for a year, some new ones now cost 60 cents. They were only 40 cents when I started." His other hobbies include cartooning, drawing animals, hockey, skiing, rock music and baseball. He hopes to save enough money to buy a motocross bike the $20 puts him a step closer to the $500 price tag. Carrier Chronicle The Citizen Eric C. Brenning Circulation Director Harold G.
