Well apparently Aylmer May or Ernest Lattion has heard it too. He just turned one down. Monday night council read a notice of motion lor a bylaw raising councillors' pay from $60 to $100 a month. Mayor Lattion's stipend will remain at its present level $2,500 per annum. 'I can't afford a pay said the mayor whose main source of income is his hotel in the "I'm quite happy with my pay the way it is." Region's finance department seeks 10 employees Regional council will be asked next Wednesray to approve hir ing 10 new employees for the finance department.

The extra staff will cost the region $37,500 for the balance of the year. Additional expenses for office furniture and telephones to meet the needs of the new employees will cost an estimated $3,800. 194.
