(AP) -The Hagerstown man who died after struggling with at least five police officers was a well-known professional wrestler in Western Maryland. Neil Caricofe, 33, trained with Afa. one of a group of wrestlers known as "The Wild Samoans," who also trained wrestling notables such as Hulk Hogan and Paul Omdorff, said Shane Heimberger, who trained with the wrestler. Caricofe also worked as a correctional officer in Sykesville, Md. and was a member of the U.S.

Army Reserves, said his father Richard Caricofe. Caricofe, who was 6-foot-5 and weighed 250 pounds, collapsed and stopped breathing following a half-hour struggle in which police used batons and pepper spray, according to police. Bucher, 83, 265 Clear Spring Road, Biglerville, died suddenly Friday, August 23, 1996, at Gettysburg Hospital. He was the husband of M. Florence (Stough) Bucher. Mr. Bucher was born in Reistville, Lebanon County, on May 12, 1913, and was the son of the late Leonard E.

and Cora (Kurtz) Bucher. He was a member of Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. He was an ordained pastor of the Church of the Brethren and interim pastor of the Church of the Brethren, Cedar Creek, Ala. for one j'ear. He graduated from Schaeffertown High School in 1932 and from Elizabethtown College in 1936 with a bacher- lor's degree in business administration.

He was a Trustee Emeritus at Elizafaethtown College. He taught in Biglerville High School from 1936 to 1939. He was employed by C. H. Musselman for 33 years in traffic, sales and marketing.

He was the Executive Director of South Central Community Action Program for five years. He was a former Board Member of On Earth Peace Assembly of the Church of the Brethren. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sue Bucher Rube of Pluderhausen, Germany, and Anne Bucher Lane of Gettysburg; one son, C. Scott Bucher of Boiling Springs; 13 grandchildren; 3 greatgrandchildren: one brother. Abraham C.

Bucher of Elizabethtown; and one sister, Elizabeth Pittinger of Lebanon- Service will be held on Tuesday, August 27, at 2.00 at Gettysburg Church of the Brethren. 1710 Biglerville Road, with his pastor, Rev. Joel F. Nogle, officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

Waynesboro, died Saturday, August 24, 1996, in the emergency room of the Waynesboro Hospital. He was in failing health since suffering a heart attack in 1987. Born May 9, 1927, in the Fox Hill area near Waynesboro, he was the son of the late Jacob C. and Mary GTrace (Sollenberger) Bumbaugh. He lived all of bis life in the Fox Hill area.

Mr. Bumbaugh served United States Marines during World War EL He is survived by bis wife, Shirley A. (Green) Bumbaugh. They were married on September 1,1952. Mr.

Bumbaugh was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot in Building as a clerk and then supervisor. He retired January 1, 1985 after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Unity Club of Chambersburg. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lueinda E.

Shannon, Marion, four sons, Allen L. Bumbuagh, Glen Rock; Kevin L. Bumbaugh, Mark R. Bumbaugh, both of Fox Hill; Kerry L. Bumbaugh, Quincy, six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was the last of bis immediate family. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J. Ralph Bumbaugh, Harry C. Bumbaugh, and Ray W. Bumbaugh.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 28, in the Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro, with Pastor H. Ray Kips officiating. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg. Family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m..

and was a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Beuiah Harman Foulk. In addition to her husband, Calvin E. Heintzelman, Mrs. Heintzelman is survived by two daughters, Mrs.

Richard (Sbirly) Shermeyer and Mrs. William (Mazie) Ely, both of Abbottstown, and Mrs. Charles Walmer, Aspers; three sons. Larry Heintzelman, Gettysburg and Kenneth Heintzelman and Raymond Heintzelman. both of Biglerville; 8 grandchildren: 4 step-grandchildren; 1 greatgrandchild: 7 step-great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Raymond Foulk, Hanover; and one step-sister.

Funeral services will be ehld at Benders Lutheran Church, 1385 Rentzel Road, Biglerville, on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard W. Spratlin officiating. Friends may call at the Peters Funeral Home, Gettysburg, from 7-9 p.m..

J. Gobrecht, 90, formerly of 1677 Westminster Road, Hanover, died Friday. August 23, 1996, at the Hanover Hall Nursing Center. Born May 28, 1906 in Adams County, he was the son of the late Cornelius M. and Fransanna A.

(Kump) Gobrecht. He was the husband of Sarah E. (Dubs) Gobrecht to whom he was married for 65 years. Mr. Gobrecht was a member of St.

Bartholomew United Church of Christ, Hanover, Pa. He worked for the Hanover Shoe Company for 24 years and owned and operated Gobrecht's Service Station at 715 Frederick Street, Hanover, Pa. for the same length of time. Besides his wife, Mr. Gobrecht is survived by three sons, Sterling L.

Gobrechi, Dean D. Gobrecht, and Allen E. Gobrecht all of Hanover; three daughters, Gladys G. Shank of Hanover, Pearl M. Hoff of Spring Grove, and Eileen E.

Becker of Hanover; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 8 step-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, 269 Frederick Street. Hanover, with his pastor, Rev. W. Arthur Grahe, officiating.

Burial will be in St. Bartholomew's Church cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, August 26, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Tyrone Hoif and Michael Hoff. Freda C. Whisler Freda C. Whisler, 88, formerly of 160 Kinsey Dr. Gettysburg died Saturday, August 24 at the Gettysburg Lutheran Home.

Born in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Virgie (Stultz) Moritz. She was the widow of Glenn Whisler who died in 1980. Mrs. Whisler was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.

White Hall. She is survived bv one son, Harold G. Whilser, Gettysburg: 4 grandchildren. 4 great-grandchildren; and one sister. Elletta Stultz, Gettysburg.
