No Funeral Services for TV Star HOLLYWOOD (UPI) -A 1 i ce Pearce, 47, rubber-faced comedienne who played the role of the nosey neighbor, Gladys Kravitz, in the TV series "Bewitched," died of cancer at her home yesterday. No funeral services are to be held. In a personal note, she asked that donations, in lieu of flowers be sent to the Nat Cole Cancer Foundation. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she made her Obituaries Stella Noted Services for Stella Wynne Herron, 79, early Stanford alumna, whose by-line long ago adorned The Examiner, Mencken's Smart Set, Harper's and Collier's, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Halsted's, 1123 Sutter st.

Mrs. Herron died Wednesday at a local convalescent hospital. She is survived by a son, San Francisco attorney John Wynne Herron. a resident of Hillsborough, his wife, Phyl-lis Newman Herron, and thejr sons. John, Ronald and Scott Herron.

VETERAN NEWSMEN called the early budding of Mrs. Herron's talent, and of her "Nob Hill Murder Mystery," serialized in The Examiner and later in other newspapers served by King Features Syndicate. In the World War I era she was associated in progressive causes here with Cora Bag-gerly Older, wife of famed editor Fremont Older. Later she went to Manhat-tan, lived and wrote in Greenwich Village. Herron, Writer Mencken published her poem, "The Chinese Calendar," in Smart Set as a fantastic mirror of San Francisco Chinatown's charms. MRS. HERRON'S modern poems on Manhattan East Side, West Side, Fifth Avenue, Wall Street were published in a book, "The Bowery Parade," sponsored by Delphic Studio and illustrated by Mexican artist Clemente Orozco. Her verse also was included in "Continent's End," an anthology of California poetry, compiled by George Sterling, Robinson Jeffers and Gertrude Atherton, and published by John Nash, with Senator James D. Phelan and others as patrons.

She' was a warm personal friend of Dr. Gobind Behari Lai, veteran science writer, who recalled that, proud of her Irish-American ancestry, Mrs. Herron traveled in the old world and the new, and used her poetry to combat racial prejudices and hostilities. Mrs. 31.

Mackenzie Memorial services for Mrs Marcia Gerstle Mackenzie, member of a prominent San Francisco family who died last November in an airplane crash In Mexico, will be held tomorrow at 1 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Mrs. Mackenzie was a pas senger in a war surplus B-26 bomber which had been con verted for private use when it crashed into mudflats just after takeoff at Mexico City Airport. Her husoand, Alistair, an executive with National Broadcasting Company, was seriously injured in the crash.

Two others died in the crash. Mrs. Mackenzie, 44, was granddaughter of the late San Francisco financier Mark L. Gerstle and daughter of Dr. Mark L.

Gerstle chief psychiatrist of the California Youth Authority. She also is survived by her father; her mother, Mrs. Marion Maitland-Hariot of San Francisco; two children, Carolyne, 15, and Patricia, 12; and a brother, public relations consultant Mark L. Gerstle III. William J.

Dunn Requiem High Mass for William J. Dunn, 61, retired 20-year traffic manager for the San Leandro plant of Schering world-wide pharmaceuticals- antibiotics firm, was chanted at Holy Name Church today. World War II blasted Mr. Dunn into a new career.He had been a rhythm pianist all his life, had dance combos in Massachusetts, Illinois, Nevada and California, but came to San Francisco from Las Vegas when the Pearl Harbor attack plunged the nation into war.

Thereafter she appeared on stage in "Look Ma, I'm Dancing," "Small Wonder," "Gentlemen Prefer "The Grass Harp," "Dear Charles," "Fallen Angels," "Copper and Brass," "Bells are ringing" and "Midgey Purvis." Her last Broadway appearance was in Noel Coward's "Sail Away" in 1963. Miss Pearce's career also included numerous films. A veteran of the night-club circuit, Miss Pearce held the record for the longest engagement in the history of Manhattan's now defunct Blue Angel Club 67 weeks.

Recently, the comedienne and her second husband, Paul Davie were running an art gallery and framing shop here. Dr. Glasson, S.F. Dentist, Dies at 71 After five years of hard-rock mining in Grass Val ley, begun at the age of 16, Pearce Glasson decided that there must have been something better. The 21 year old left his hometown in 1916 and came to the Bay Area, where he entered the University of California Dental School, working his way through, then entered private practice in San Francisco.

Over the years he built up a busy practice, but found time to become an active clubman. He was a member of Alta Vista Lodge, A.M., Islam Temple of the Shrine, Sunnyside Post of the American Legion, All Saints Episcopal Church, Xi Psi Phi fraternity, and a life member of the California Dental Asso ciation. Tuesday the busy life end ed at 71 in a local hospital af ter a brief illness. Doctor Glasson is survived by his widow Edith, of 49 Cameo Way, a son, Army Captain Robert P. Glasson, and two grandchildren.
