AMC is the largest operating subsidiary of AMC Entertainment Inc. The 14-screcn next-generation theatre will anchor a multi-use entertainment and retail development located in the historic Don Lee Caliillac Building at the corner of Van Ness Avenue and O'Farrell Street in San Francisco. AMC 1000 Van Ness will host a concession stand on each of the theatre's three levels, as well as Cafe" 1000, a casual cafe" area on the second level featuring Starbucks coffee, Sweet Inspirations desserts, Sweet Charlotte's candies, and other items.

All three concession areas have nine stations to serve the moviegoer. AMC 1000 Van Ness opens with a slate of new summer films. "Lethal Weapon 4" from Warner Brothers stars Mel Gibson, Danny Glover and Joe Pesci. "Small Soldiers" from DreamWorks Pictures and Universal Pictures stars Kirsten Dunst, Gregory Smith, Jay Mohr and the late Phil Hartman, and features the voices of Frank Langella and Tommy Lee Jones. And Tristar Pictures' "Madeline" brings together Hatty Jones and Academy Award8-winner Frances McDormand.

Other recent summer hits will be showing as well. Opening weekend will also include concession specials, with 25-cent small popcorn and free small Starbucks coffee with a purchase at Cafe" 1000. One central box office with seven selling stations will be located in the renovated lobby of the historic building. Two automated self-service box offices will be available for ticket purchases and retrieval of TcleTicket'" flhone-ahead tickets. A guest services lobby kiosk on the second level will have two stations that help moviegoers with will-call tickets and gift certificates, and offer services that make the AMC movie-going experience more enjoyable.

AMC 1000 Van Ness offers the finest in customer services, including AMC's phone-ahead reservation system; the company's Silence Is Golden program, which encourages patrons to be courteous to those around them; and the AMC MovieWatcher program, the nation's premiere frequent moviegoer club that awards points towards free popcorn, soft drinks and more. The AMC circuit also sponsors Read for the Stars, a reading program that is offered through local schools and libraries. AMC continues to remain the leader in the theatre industry and has been recognized by industry peers for its outstanding customer service.
