A. Davidson Citizen special correspondent How are the men of war fallen, fallen on the field! Fallen, fallen are the men of war; and their armour left on the field. These words, from the first chapter of the Old Testament book, 2 Samuel (as given in the New English Bible), are from King David's lament over the death in battle of Saul and Jonathan and others; they express the anguish of a warrior as he remembers men with whom his life had been tied, men who did not survive battle. In their full setting these words also express a sense of thanksgiving and an awareness of judgment thanksgiving for what the dead purchased with their lives for those who survived, and judgment on what the survivors have made of what was purchased for them. For me, these words express the heart of what we try to do when we assemble ourselves at this time of the year in solemn remembrance of our country's sons who did not come back from our wars.

As an old soldier I can respond with deep feeling to the honest sentiment of Laurence Binyon's much-quoted lines about the fallen of the First World War: They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. We who survived our country's wars are now being wearied by age and condemned by the years. The youngest among us are now in their middle fifties and the oldest have passed ninety. We remember, though, that 21 was the average age at the times of their deaths.

We were ordinary young men those of us who came back and those who didn't in rather drab uniforms and caught up in a great horror that was not of our making. We did not see ourselves as crusading knights in shining armor. I cannot St. Pater's Lutheran Comar Spurt, and Bay Streets "SHARING IN THE NEW CALL TO PEACE-MAKING" Rev. HEALING SERVICE Dr. R. K. McALL, MJ. MISSIONARY SURGEON PSYCHIATRIST SPEAKING ON INNER HEALING HMSTIAN 3SSS3S3SS83333S3SSS8333S ENTRE- THE LIGHT OF OUR LIFE Each year more families choose the simplicity of a funeral service in one of the Chapels of the Kelly Funeral Homes.

Schedule of Services God dwells within each one of us. We know the indwelling God force as mm omShW FUNERAL HOMES mind not brain because brain is physical and mind is the "I Am" of each one of us which gives us life and separates from the body on transition, known as death. The influence of God Spirit is everywhere present and nowwhere absent is without beginning and without end. Each second of our life here on Earth is a part of our life everlasting because we are a part of, and must return to, "Our Father, Who Art In Heaven" exactly as Jesus taught. Scientists can analyse seeds and make them synthetically put them in the ground but they will not grow, only God can create life from the lowest of God's Kingdoms, insects and animals to the highest humanity.

Without the God presence and God influence there could be no life on, in, above or about this planet Earth. To see grass, bush, shrub, trees and all life, is to see the God presence and God influence at work. We live daily in a showcase of the wonders of God's creative love. The mysteries of outer space are being probed many light years away by wondrous vehicles with wondrous equipment, relaying back to Earth wondrous data about God's wondrous universe and creative power but the most wondrous of all God's creations is humanity. It is not necessary to probe many light years distant to know God's supreme creative effort just look at the person next to you for there is the combination of human body and God Spirit that makes life possible God's supreme creation.

The wise person follows the teaching of Jesus "Love Te One Another" for to love one another is to love God, because God and humaity are one.
