WOODMAN, Roy H. In Memoriam SPINC0LA, Clarence Thinking of you. SISTER I BROTHERS Yosemite search for girl, 14, is scaled back Special to The Examiner YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK Searchers today planned to reduce the hunt for a 14-yearold Saratoga girl, missing in the back country since Friday. Concentrated checks using a grid-like pattern by experienced crews, specially trained dogs and helicopter pilots failed to come up with any clues about blonde, lightly clad Stacey Arras, who left the high Sierra camp to take a hike during a sunny afternoon and disappeared. "It's unusual.

Usually we find some trace," said the Park Service's Linda Abbott at Tuolumne Meadows. Some 75 people had set out from there on each of three days, through yesterday. A 77-year-old man who walked down the socalled Sunrise Trail with Stacey for about 20 minutes was the last to see her. She had cheerfully told him she planned to go a bit further to some lakes and take some pictures. Her mother, Carol Arras, said in a telephone interview from their home that the girl had taken summer hikes "since she was a little girl." She described her as 5-foot4, with shoulder length hair, wearing white shorts and white, short-sleeved jersey.

Stacey, a sophomore at Westmont High School, was at Sunrise Camp, about five miles from the nearest road. She was on a pack trip with her father, George Arras, and about 20 others. Yesterday, searchers retraced a five mile area, barren except for the lakes, strewn with giant granite boulders and pocked with steep ravines, at 9,500 feet Abbott said the night temperatures have been near freezing.
