They were Roger Rice, 2, Richard Harris, 5, David Sacks, 7, and Graham Moore, 32.

I still don't know how to describe the station's product. It is not commercial; it is not educational. It is not pertinent; it is not impertinent.

It is sort of rambling. If this is typical of Sunday on the town, then the country's where it's at. The insignia of "Sunday on the Town" is a drawing of a buggy without a horse to pull it. The station seems to be in a similar quandary.

It has a presumably good buggy (equipment) but no recognizable horse (positive programming elements) to pull it. HOWEVER, positive elements at any moment may leap out of the KUDO antenna when it's working. The station was showing a tape of surfing at Santa Cruz last night when suddenly about 5:40 p.m. poof it went off the air, a disappearing act common to most new stations. It was back at 6:15 p.m.

with a replay of the opening night's studio show emceed by Russ Coglin. That opening show as a two-hour aimless and frequently mindless drag. It also was deceptive. Jim Lange appeared sporting a jumbo mustache. Four hours later on the "Oh, My Word" show lie was clean-shaven.

Bonnie Schell, very funny on 'Gomer Pyle" and at Bimbo's, came off like an unprepared dumb ox at KUDO. Jim Dunbar, a spunky conversationalist on KGO, was about as spirited as a discarded banana peel on KUDO. Those three were the only "big name" outside guests that host Russ Coglin could spring. Russr however, reflected as much happiness as the wagging tail of a feeding pup. He's a fluid talker, an adaptable host and obviously glad to be on camera again after a dozen years in the television sales dungeons.

The station's first organized presentation was from The Committeo which, ironically, is noted for its ad lib lack of organization. It led off with the Gentle Dance rock group informing viewers that "Jesus Was a Teenager." It wasn't exactly last minute news but it certainly was the best performed act of KUDO's first two days.
