Friday. Howard W. Miller The Rev. Howard W. Miller, 73, of 425 Ridgewood Gettysburg, died Monday, May 10, in Gettysburg Hospital.

Born Dec. 16, 1925 in Baltimore, he was a son of the late George S. Miller and Edith Cliiveral Miller. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joan Duncan Miller. The Rev.

Miller graduated cum laude from Washington College in 1948, earned a master's degree from the University of Maryland in 1950, and was awarded an honorary doctorate from Newberry College in 1986. After a brief tenure as a writer with the Martin Marietta Company, he taught English and dramatics at Catonsville Senior High School, Baltimore. He was ordained a Lutheran minister in 1961, graduating from the Lutheran Theological Seminary, Gettysburg. He served as pastor of several parishes including Trinity Lutheran Church in Taneytown, Second English Lutheran Church, Baltimore, and St Paul- Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Fla. After his retirement, he continued to serve as interim pastor in several churches in Pennsylvania and Maryland.

He was a member of St James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg, In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, David C. Miller of New Ulm, Timothy W. Miller of Berkeley, John E. Miller of Columbia, daughter Susan M. Stoddard of Newark, sister Mary E.

Stortz of Baltimore; and four grandchildren. Memonal services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg, with the Revs E. Edward Keyser, Lisa M.

Leber and Frederick A. Foltz officiating. Interment will be private. The Family will receive friends at the Gettysburg Fire Co. immediately following services Saturday.

Crook, 93, of Hanover, died Tuesday, May 11, at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. Born July 7, 1905 in Hanover, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Viannah V. Snyder Zartman. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, and the Hanover Moose. She retired from Hanover Shoe Company after 50 years of service.

She is survived by one daughter, Jean L. Wagaman of Hanover; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Horace Zartman of Hanover. She was predeceased by four brothers, Richard Zartman, Guy Zartman, Clyde Zartman and Dean Zartman; and three sisters, Mary Zartman, Erma Bemiller and Myrtle Sherman. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 14, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York Hanover, with her pastor, the Rev.

Bom Oct. 1, 1916 in York, he was a son of the late Samuel Franklin and Catherine Mary Yake Feeser. Mr. Feeser was a lifelong member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Thurmont, and served on the Holy Name Society and on the parish council from 1978 to 1994. He was a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Thurmont Knights of Columbus 11975, Thurmont.

In his early years, he was employed with Hillside Turkey Farm for 20 years. He later was employed at Catoctin High a.cus- todian for 15 years. He is survived by four daughters, Catherine Feeser, Mary B. Feeser and Bonita M. Smith, all of Thurmont, and Virginia L.

Hanson of Tucson, two sons, Samuel F. Feeser and Joseph C. Feeser. both of seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, May Kessinger of Tucson; one brother, Joseph Feeser of Los Osos, Calif; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Bernard Feeser three sisters, Anna Noel, Helen Markle and Elizabeth Feeser; and two brothers, Curt Feeser and Ed Feeser A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m.

Glenn Hoke E. Glenn Hoke, 88, of 124 Main Arendtsville, died Tuesday, May 11, at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Born May 11,1911 in Menallen Township, Adams County, he was a son of the late C. Roy and Viola Black Hoke. His wife, Bernadene Thomas, died in 1992.

Mr. Hoke owned and operated the Arendtsville Garage for 45 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of United Church of Christ, Arendtsville; Cashtown Lions Club; BPO Elks Lodge, Gettysburg; Arendtsville Fire where he served as chief for 10 years; the South Mountain Fair Assn. board of directors; Adams County Hunting Camp; and Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club. He is survived by son Loy C.

Hoke of Arendtsville, two step grandchildren and two step great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Bendersville, with Elder Donald E. Stine officiating.

York PA 17404 Helen F. Luckenbaush Helen F. Luckenbaugh, 91, formerly of Blooming Grove Road, Hanover, died Monday, May 10, at, Homewo'od at Plum Creek Nursing Center, Hanover. Born May 19, 1908 in Porters Sideling, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Annie E. Hamme Markle.

Her husband, Norman L. Luckenbaugh, died in 1971. Mrs. Luckenbaugh was a member of St. Peter's (Lischey's) United Church of Christ, Spring Grove.

She and her husband had farmed privately for numerous years. She is survived by one nephew, Charles E. Markle, of Hanover and a number of great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister. Graveside services will be held at 10-30 a.m.

Recard, 95, of 741 Chambersburg Gettysburg, died Tuesday, May 11, in Beverly Healthcare, Gettysburg. Born April 29, 1904 in Straban Township, she was the daughter of the late David F. and Annie Cromer Matthews. Her husband, Jessie C. Recard, died in 1969.

Mrs. Recard was employed by C.H. Musselman Biglerville, for a number of years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Gettysburg Moose and the Barlow Fire Co. Auxiliary.

She is survived by granddaughter Tammy Park of Chambersburg, great-grandson Chad and two brothers, Lloyd Matthews of Forked River, N.J., and John Matthews of Littlestown. Her daughter, Dorothy A. Shoff, died in 1991. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 13, at Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle Gettysburg, with the Rev.

Shilling Kathryn Schoonover Shilling, 88, of 1158 Broadway, Hanover, died Monday, May 10, in the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford. Born May 10, 1911 in Delmar, she was a daughter of the late James and Nina Van Vliet Burton. She was predeceased by husbands Lloyd Shilling, Harry Schoonover and Leo Burton.

During World War II, Mrs. Shilling was employed at Eclipse Defense Manufacturing in Horseheads. N.Y. Before moving to Pennsylvania, she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Gibson, N.Y., and retired from J.C. Penney in Horseheads.

She worked for Missionary Letter Service in Gettysburg before retiring. She is survived by two daughters, Gretta O'Brien of Hanover and Loren Earon of Lake Forest, four grandchildren; five great- grandchildren; and sister Charlotte Oakden of Painted Post, NY. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 14, at Acly- Stover Funeral Home, 327 E. Second Corning, N.Y., with the Revs.
