Central Canada Exhibition boarjd The township will be permitted, to sell lottery tickets for it $5 million sports centre now under construction. The only stipulation is that ticket-sellers re-' main at two booths which will be rented from the CCEA. Directors also voted to allow the township to vend tickets at football games.

About a month ago the CCEA turned down a request from Ne- pean to sell lottery tickets at the When Nepean council received the CCEA's letter turning down turning down the request it was far from happy. Councillor Paul Friesen sug gested that council write the CCEA saying Nepean residents wouldn't buy tickets to the Rough Riders inter-squad contest and "will stay the hell Out of Ottawa." When the Nepean request was reconsidered last night by the CCEA directors, some members felt that as a public relations 'Wour dog's a RETRIEVER, Isn't he? Well, tell him f- to start retrieving." gesture the board should grant permission. But director Alderman Des Bender claimed that if Nepean was allowed to sell tickets, revenue from the CCEA's own raffles would drop. He also remarked that if permission was given "all kinds of service clubs" would be asking for the same privilege. Director Controller Claude Bennett suggested the CCEA limit the privilege to elected councils from adjoining "A few years agowhen regional government was asked high degree of companionship are associated with a higher level of health among husband and wives 'than marriages marked, by strict sex-role differ entiation, unequal power and lower companionship.

The. researcher called for a re-examination of a heory which has presented traditional sex -role -differentiated fami ly as the most effective form. He study was based on infor mation obtained from detailed interviews with a representative sample of famiHes with children aged nine to 13 years in a northern New Jersey city. Husbands wives "were queried separately about the distribution of family decisionmaking, the degree to which husband and wife participate in the same household activities (sex-role differentiation) and the degree of companionship enjoyed as a couple. Companionship was the most influential factor.

The higher the level of husband-wife companionship the higher the level MARMADIJKE the family circus for a grant for the 'Ex' the big gest came from the reeve of Nepean and the reeve of Osgoode," remarked Director Alderman Jules Morin. "Now the shoe's on the other foot" Director Mayor Pierre Benoit said he would like to. see the CCEA allow area municipalities to sell raffle tickets if they rent ed space and if the raffle was "related to a municipal ben efit." finally decided to allow Nepean to sell the tickets at this year's Ex and to consider an over-all policy at a later date. Monterey Drive traffic cure? Monterey Drive residents, only because of the summer va- odds with Nepean' Township council, Thursday were told that additional parking stalls could be. built in their area to reduce the effect of a controversial paiking ban in effect since June 1.

Township works commissioner Ernie Cole told the planning and zoning committee that construction of the visitor parking stalls, could provide more than the SO spaces, wiped out by the park- tag ban. The commissioner also said a survey showed "some stalls" in parking lots were vacant. Resident spokesman Donald TJevis doubted additional stalls were the answer because they wttuld have to be built in areas set. aside for snow removal. The areas, be said, are sometimes under 10 feet of snow.

Jn addition, Mr. Davis said easting stalls likely are vacant cation period. Mr. Cole said statistics indicate that about 58 per' cent of traffic on the street use as a short cut to avoid congestion on Greenbank and Base Line Roads. He said his department is still By CARROLL HOLLAND Husbands who get their hands in the diswater as readily as their wives, are likely to be healthier than husbands who don't This finding is contained in a study on Conjugal Organization Brother Juniper studying a ratepayer plan that would allow parking on the north side of the street, and impose a one-way.

Sociologist Lois jrattcon- cluded from research data that marriages characterized by a relatively equal power pattern, flexible division of labor and a Mr.

Cole agreed with the com mittee that the survey could end up by "supporting their (the-. ratepayers') contention." The works commissioner re peated his contention that "it's bad engineering to have parking in ait area wheer children are moving." Husbands who wash dishes likely healthier, study says of health, health-care practices and health knowledge. Two previous studies on the subject found that mere were large differences in physical health involving ill nesses as well as minor neurotic symptoms between employed and non-employed women. The employed women were favored Miss Pratt observed. She noted that one recent attempt to state the effectiveness of the more flexible equalitarian end non-differentiated family form observed that change has produced a situation where neither husband nor wife can find satisfaction or security in a division of labor between the sexes.

Given the fact that the mod ern family must above all fulfil the need for understanding and psychological relief, the tradi tional sex and age divisions are likely to appear The researcher emphasized that attempts to re-formulate sociological notions about fami ly functioning "may turn out to be much more than idealistic ruminations about individual freedom." "If the existing findings are any indication, research data may turn out to reveal an "emerging" family form or forms which outperform the "traditional" form within the contemporary social setting," she reported. It has become the pioneer of a new form of comedy, fusing graphic' arts with sketches, i however the idea is no longer original, as evidenced by the premiere of a 'new U.S. summer series on CTV last night By Sandy Gardiner 1 ,4.1 Somethiiig completely different-Marty British comedians are a nutty lot They'll do almost anything for a laugh, hold nothing sacred and have become somewhat masochistic in their pie-throwing attitudes: Unfortunately Canadian viewers have savored this lunacy in small doses, partly because the networks have shunned the hysterical stuff in favor of the situation comedy import While Laugh-In was at its' peak, merry with' short skits, Monty Python's Flying Circus a collective for a satirical ensemble were cracking up the Isles with an hour of sheer insanity.

Last season the CBC made the big decision to bring the Monty Python crew to Canada, on videotape, but some bright bigwig had the idea that an hour would be just too much to take. Whether he feared a mass 1 outbreak of hysterical laughter, or whatever, we'll never know but Monty Python died a slow, painful death after some 34 minutes were deleted to fit the CBC's allotted time period. Despite being handicapped by network psychology, Monty Python built a small but. staunch following which complained bitterly when the show was constantly pre-empted end 'finally dropped completely from die schedule. Although the TV series was not a ratings winner here it had as much of a chance of making it as Bobby Fischer has of becoming a member of the diplomatic corps a movie, version of the show The Marty Feldman Comedy Machine is a Monty Python spin-off, the difference being that the show is aimed at North American audiences.
