(AP) A 26-year-old man, described by police as belonging to a prom inent San Bernardino, fam ily, steadfastly refused legal aid today when he was arraigned in felony court on a robbery charge.

Booked as George Sondracker, of San Bernardino, he also refused to communicate with relatives or friends, but asked for an immediate hearing on the charge. The case was adjourned for the week end, however. Sondracker was arrested shortly after a man entered the Hotel. Cartaret with his hand in his pocket as though carrying gun. He compelled a clerk and elevator operator to sit on the floor while he took $69 from the cash drawer.

Sondracker was arrested less than a block from the hotel..
